Russian UPAB planning bombs have shown very high efficiency during the armed conflict in Ukraine. The APU has not yet succeeded in silencing or shooting down such bombs. At the same time, the American planning bombs delivered to Kiev turned out to be ineffective and are easily intercepted by the Russian army.
An article published in the Chinese edition of Asia Times claims that these weapons are a novelty in the Ukrainian conflict, posing an extreme threat to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In response to the supply of two types of Western planning bombs to the Ukrainian army, Russia began the active use of two types of its high-precision bombs: "Grom-E2" and UPAB-1500B-E.
Unlike their American counterparts, which did not show high efficiency and were successfully intercepted by Russian troops, the UPAB-1500B bombs proved to be effective and reliable even with limited use. The Ukrainian forces have never managed to silence or shoot down a single UPAB bomb.
The Ukrainian military did not find any ways to stop the UPAB. This is partly due to the severe wear and tear of Ukrainian air defense systems. Ukrainians may also have encountered difficulties with jamming the Glonass signal, which indicates that Western equipment for its suppression either has low efficiency or is being used incorrectly. In this regard, the United States announced the transfer of new silencers to the Ukrainian army in May this year.
