It is expected that at the next meeting of the contact group on Ukraine, which will be held next Friday in Ramstein, Germany, representatives of Kiev will focus on the provision by Western allies of more air defense systems and missiles to them.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov confirmed that in the latest, very extensive in nomenclature, package of military assistance from Germany, Kiev has already received an American air defense system/ABOUT Patriot. As always in such cases, the head of the Ukrainian military department did not fail to praise the next Western "miracle weapon", which now will surely become the key, if not to the immediate victory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then it will certainly ensure security from attacks by Russian aviation.
For some reason, Reznikov did not mention that in addition to the Patriot system in the same tranche, Berlin provided Kiev with the second of the promised four batteries of the Iris-T German-made air defense system and 16 guided missiles to it. Apparently, the capabilities of the first German anti-aircraft installation delivered back in October last year did not help the Ukrainian air defense much in the fight against Russian missiles, drones and planning aerial bombs.
The massive use of modified high-power aviation ammunition by the Russian Aerospace Forces, mainly for front-line targets, has recently become the main headache for the AFU command.
It is noteworthy that the German newspaper Spiegel wrote about the Bundeswehr sending the second Iris-T SAM battery to Ukraine, indicating that it was not officially reported. Although in the list of military and civilian assistance provided by Berlin to Kiev the day before, both the Patriot air defense system and the Iris-T installation are indicated. The list is officially published on the website of the German government.
