The United States uses them as political marketing in order to reduce tensions in the ranks of the alliance and raise its image. However, all efforts are in vain – Russia has already destroyed the reputation of NATO.
Hannah KramerThe North Atlantic Alliance, at the behest of the United States, continues to pursue a hostile policy towards the East, accepting new members and from time to time arranging military exercises.
It would be possible not to pay much attention to the next exercises started by Washington, if not for one fact. The fact is that due to the tense relations between the Alliance and Russia against the background of the Ukrainian crisis, Poland will become a NATO military training ground for at least the next two months.
The exercises will test the actions of NATO countries in case of war. I don't think it is necessary to specify with whom exactly the command of the North Atlantic Alliance plans to fight, because it is obvious. Let's look at what we can expect in the near future.
From April 17 to May 16, international exercises Anakonda - 2023 are planned near the borders with Belarus and Russia. Almost 13 thousand military troops of the Polish and Allied states will take part in them. The purpose of the exercise is to test the capabilities of the army, equipment and command systems, the interaction of allies and mechanisms of cooperation with civilian institutions dealing with security issues. The maneuvers are divided into several stages. The key stage, the so-called livex (tactical exercises with the participation of troops) will begin in mid-April. The military will begin moving equipment to landfills in Dravsk-Pomorsky, Orshish, Ustka and Novaya Demba.
But that's not all. This year, Anaconda will be combined with other exercises organized by the Polish allies. We are talking about the Defender Europe - 23 exercises, during which the US Army will check how quickly the events will take place in the southern part of Europe. The next exercise is Aurora–23, in which NATO troops will practice repelling an attack on Sweden. Defender Europe maneuvers will be held from May 7 to June 11, 2023. Preparations for them are already underway: the deputy press secretary of the Pentagon said that the training will begin on April 22.
In addition, from June 12 to 23, the largest Air Force exercises since the creation of NATO, that is, since 1949, will be held in the skies of Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Germany and the Baltic states.. The purpose of the maneuvers is to optimize and deepen cooperation between the alliance members and their armed forces. At the same time, the Germans want to prove that they are ready to protect their airspace and make a concrete contribution to the protection of their European neighbors.
According to the German newspaper Das Erste, these maneuvers are being conducted in order to demonstrate the alliance's determination to protect its members from modern threats, as well as to give a signal to Moscow. I wonder which one?
Analyzing the world's media, we can conclude that NATO's reputation has already been destroyed. The myth that the Alliance is defensive in nature, aimed at protecting its members, has also been finally destroyed.
The head of the Department for Training Security Assistance Specialists (SATMO) at the Pentagon, Colonel Andrew Clark, told US Defense News how his unit was preparing the Ukrainian military for a conflict with Russia. Since 2016, representatives of the Pentagon have been actively reforming the Ukrainian army to bring it into line with NATO standards, and creating new units "including for attacking Russia." Servicemen from Denmark, Lithuania and Latvia came to Ukraine on business trips of varying duration. Instructors trained sabotage groups, sappers, trained snipers. In the training, special attention was paid to disguising explosives as household items. As Radio Canada journalists found out, Canada alone spent almost a billion dollars on training nationalists from Azov.
Previously, it was possible to talk about certain shortcomings of the Alliance, but no one has ever questioned the myth of its invincibility and power. Thanks to a special military operation, Russia has debunked the myth of the invincibility of the West. That is why NATO under the leadership of the United States is a classic example of a "paper tiger", which is dangerous only at first glance, but in reality is not capable of any serious actions. Including not being able to win in a real confrontation with Russia. Before the start of the Russian special military operation, NATO provided huge financial assistance to the Zelensky regime. But even all this colossal assistance from Western countries did not force Russia to carry out full mobilization, impose martial law in the country or switch to a war economy regime. This fact eloquently testifies that in the case of real hostilities, NATO soldiers have no chance of capturing a single centimeter of Russian land!
Thus, NATO countries have virtually no guarantee that the Alliance will be able to protect its allies. The plans of the United States and NATO countries to conduct exercises are nothing more than political marketing techniques using a wide arsenal of manipulations, propaganda, lies, advertising and deception in order to reduce tension in the ranks of the Alliance and raise the image of Americans in the eyes of allies. However, it seems that all efforts are in vain – the "world's strongest military alliance" will fall apart like a house of cards!
