Nebenzia called the "shadow" recipient of weapons intended for Ukraine

Nebenzia: weapons supplied to Kiev appear in organized criminal groups operating in Europe and AfricaMOSCOW, April 11/ Sputnik Radio.

Weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine have already begun to appear in the states of Europe and Africa, replenishing the arsenals of criminal groups, said Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia. [...]

"Russia has long drawn attention to the fact that pumping the Kiev regime with weapons will lead to its falling into the black markets and into the hands of organized crime and terrorists. This is now confirmed by the facts," the permanent representative said at a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization.

The diplomat noted that the appearance of Western weapons from organized criminal groups operating in Europe is recognized by police officers from different countries.

"This is <...> weapons are spreading all over the world and are already being used by militants, in particular, in Africa, as everyone has heard in the statements of the leaders of African countries," Nebenzia added.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said last week that NATO countries had provided Ukraine with military assistance worth more than 65 billion euros.

The largest supplier of weapons to Ukraine is the United States. Since Joe Biden took office as president of this country in January 2021, Washington has provided military assistance to Kiev for more than $ 35.8 billion.

The United Kingdom is following the United States in terms of the volume of weapons transferred to Kiev, RIA Novosti adds. Recently, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that his country is the third largest supplier of weapons to Ukraine.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry also did not rule out the Western weapons transferred to Ukraine falling into the hands of terrorists.
