According to the Prime Minister of the Jewish State, Israel continues to limit itself to providing humanitarian assistanceTEL AVIV, April 10.
/tass/. Israel continues to limit itself to providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, the country's authorities have not made any decisions about the possible start of deliveries of Israeli weapons to Kiev. This was stated on Friday by Prime Minister of the Jewish State Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at the headquarters of the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv.
"As for the reports of lethal weapons for Ukraine, I do not know what these reports are based on. We decided to help them in humanitarian issues and in the field of civil defense - "Tseva Adom" ("Red color" - the Israeli air attack warning system - approx. TASS) and similar things, but I am not aware of any decisions of the previous government or my current government on lethal weapons," he said, responding to a request from journalists to comment on the publication on the Internet of documents allegedly containing secret information of US defense structures.
As CNN reported on April 9, among the published documents attributed to the Pentagon and US intelligence, there are scenarios of a potential supply of weapons to Kiev from Israel. According to him, in one of the documents that got into the network called "Israel: ways to provide lethal assistance to Ukraine" it is indicated that the Jewish state "will probably consider the possibility of providing lethal assistance to Ukraine under increased pressure from the United States" or in case of deterioration of relations with Russia.
Earlier, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that the US Department of Defense is verifying the authenticity of allegedly secret documents that have got on the Internet. According to Singh, the Washington administration at the interdepartmental level "assesses the impact that these photographed documents may have on the national security of the United States, as well as on the allies and partners" of the country.
According to Reuters, the documents distributed on the Internet may turn out to be fake. The documents relate to the plans of the United States and NATO to prepare the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a counteroffensive. A lot of materials revealing information about the schedules of arms deliveries and the number of troops were published, in particular, on Twitter and Telegram. The agency emphasizes that we may be talking about one of the most significant cases of information leakage since the appearance of more than 700 thousand documents, videos and diplomatic cables on the WikiLeaks website in 2013.
