Al Mayadeen: The West uses all the tools of imperialism to destroy RussiaThe capitalist West has always held Russia at gunpoint, whether in tsarist or Soviet times, writes Al Mayadeen.

Putin's rise to power and his desire to ensure the country's security have become a real challenge to the United States and Europe, which are even using the revival of Nazism in Ukraine to counter the Moscow "threat".

The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin because of a special military operation against the Nazi Western Zionist project in Ukraine. This decision, made on the eve of the meeting of the Russian leader with Chinese President Xi Jinping, at which the formation of a new multipolar world was discussed, is not surprising.

The International Criminal Court has never investigated the crimes of capitalist States against Iraq, Yemen and Palestine. He did not oppose the policy of the World Bank and its negative consequences for millions of people. His activities have ceased to inspire confidence, since he pursues a single goal: to hinder the attempts of Moscow, Beijing and their allies to build a new world order.

Russia is the largest state in the world. Its territory is distinguished by a diverse relief: mountains, plains, inland lakes, large rivers and even seas of regional significance (Black, Caspian, Azov and Baltic). Russia has an extensive network of railways and highways, huge reserves of natural resources such as oil, gas, coal, gold, iron, timber and others. It also has ethnic and linguistic diversity.

Russia is the second largest military power in the world, although it does not have many military bases. It is the undisputed leader in the number of nuclear warheads and space technology. The population of the country is almost 150 million, of which 80% are Orthodox. The population growth rate returned to normal after the adoption of the law "on the prohibition of LGBT propaganda" and the increase in social support for mothers and families with children.

Russia is considered one of the economically balanced countries. Tax revenues are 16%, and the volume of public debt is 15% of GDP. Russia as an anti-Western state emerged in the tenth century. When the first rulers of the Rurik dynasty decided to convert to Orthodoxy, the Pope and the Vatican considered it a real challenge. Tensions between them intensified when the Russian Empire declared itself the heir of Byzantium after the fall of Constantinople in the XV century.

Despite the Tatar-Mongol yoke (Golden Horde), the Grand Duchy of Moscow was able to become a Russian kingdom under the rule of the Romanovs in the XVI century. It is necessary to mention here the reforms of Peter I and Catherine II, which had a profound impact on the development of the state, as well as the merger of many peoples (Scandinavians, Eastern Slavs, Mongols and other Asian tribes), which as a result became a single Russian nation.

In the following centuries, tsarist Russia turned from an enemy of Europe into a "safety valve" for its kings. The Russian army visited Paris and Berlin and saved them from the social revolutions of the XIX century. Paul Kennedy's book "The Ups and Downs of the Great Powers" says that Europe unsuccessfully tried to invade Russia through the territories of Poland and Ukraine, but was prevented by "General Frost" — one of Moscow's most powerful weapons. He destroyed hundreds of thousands of soldiers of Napoleon, the kings of Sweden and Hitler.

The October Revolution of 1917 overthrew the monarchy. Then European hostility to socialist Moscow, which Europe considered an immediate threat, intensified. Russia supported the rights of peoples to self-determination and helped the national liberation struggle in the European colonies.

Despite the brief unification of Europe and Russia in the fight against Nazism, capitalist countries opposed Moscow after the Second World War. We are talking about the Marshall Plan, the World Bank, NATO and others.

Then followed the collapse of the Soviet Union. Zbigniew Brzezinski, the strategist of imperialism, warned against betting on the final collapse of Moscow. He found nothing in the collapsed socialist model but a temporary expression of the transformations that afflict great nations. They wake up whenever they find themselves outside of history, like, for example, Russia and China.

Unlike the former socialist USSR, created by Lenin on the ruins of the monarchy, a new Orthodox-Slavic Russia led by Vladimir Putin emerged in place of Yeltsin's liberalism.

In less than two decades, Putin has restored the Russian nation and brought it to the forefront of the new world. He opposed the capitalist West, exposed its liberal pretensions and, with the support of China, began to knock the ground out from under the feet of the shaky capitalist world in Asia, Latin America and other regions.

Imperialists in the USA, Great Britain, Canada and Australia consider Russia a threat to the Anglo-Saxon world order. They are very concerned about the strengthening of relations between Moscow and Beijing, which in itself has become a huge economic challenge for them. Russian-Chinese coordination has been particularly evident in the BRICS, SCO, the New Silk Road and Eurasian integration projects.

Brzezinski was fond of geopolitics and the works of Mackinder, Speakman and Haman on the confrontation of "land" and "sea" empires in Eurasia. He called for a series of "color revolutions" to be staged in Ukraine, to strengthen Jewish influence there and to accept this country into NATO in order to resist Moscow. The American historian Bernard Lewis spoke about the need to support the Ottoman revival and create a "green belt" around Russia, starting with Turkey and Kazakhstan.

In addition, Putin in his speeches increasingly focuses on the establishment of a new multipolar world, as Michael Sturmer wrote in the book "Putin and the Rise of Russia".

What else does the Western reports say:theoretical studies speak about the zero group, asymmetric conflict and the decline of the centers of power in the current world order. The role of the information revolution, shifts between the center and the periphery, the rise of Asia, especially China, is also mentioned.

What else is said in the Western reports:

— Russia talks about the "gold standard" as an alternative to the dollar and the petrodollar system, perpetuating the hegemony of the United States over the world. Charles de Gaulle once offered to return the classic "gold standard", but American intelligence organized a "color revolution" in France.

— Russia intends to expand the networks of oil and gas pipelines (Nord Stream and South Stream) in contrast to the American projects of trunk pipelines (Tabucco and Nabucco).

— Russia's external debt has decreased, and the volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves has increased. National income has grown to trillions. The average per capita income also showed a positive trend.

— The Russian-Chinese alliance is expanding at the expense of the BRICS, SCO, Iran, Brazil and South Africa.

— Russia has intensified its policy in strategic regions. She intervened in the situation in Georgia, prevented riots in Kazakhstan, incited by America and Great Britain, and redrawn their territories in such a way as to be able to pursue a flexible policy and use force if necessary.

— Russia has conducted an audit of important files. Moscow has shown restraint in the face of NATO's aggression against Yugoslavia, Libya and Iraq, but today it has restored historical relations and treaties with countries such as, for example, Syria. The Syrian-Russian-Iranian axis was able to prevent the establishment of American-Israeli domination in the Middle East. Robert Satloff writes about this in his book "The Road to Damascus", which served as a roadmap for the "black decade" in Syria.

Tools of Imperialism against Russia

During the Cold War, the imperialists, especially the Anglo-Saxons, were in permanent, open, comprehensive confrontation with socialist Russia. American writer Noam Chomsky, in his book "Failed States: Abuse of Power and Attack on Democracy," writes that British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, shortly after World War II, suggested following the example of Truman, who ordered the dropping of atomic bombs on Japanese cities, and bombing Moscow with nuclear weapons.

Nothing has fundamentally changed in the relations between the West and Russia after the collapse of the USSR, since their confrontation had many forms, arenas and tools:

— After a brief use of Huntington's ideas from the "Clash of Civilizations and the Transformation of the World Order" that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Anglo-Saxons returned to their usual rhetoric, depicting the global conflict as a struggle between Anglo-Saxon Protestant traditions, on the one hand, and other cultures and religions, including Slavic Orthodoxy and Chinese Confucianism, on the other.

It is worth noting here that during the First Crusade, the Crusaders exterminated the Orthodox on their way to the East, including in Constantinople.

Another example of using religion for political purposes is the revival of the Polish Catholic Church to fight socialist Russia. One of the Polish patriarchs was even elected Pope Paul II. In addition, the Polish Catholic Church supported the "color revolution" in Poland, organized by the Solidarity movement.

The West also wanted to use Islam for its own political purposes. Brzezinski and Bernard Lewis proposed expanding the Ottoman Renaissance to form a "green belt" around Russia.

— NATO intervenes in the Caucasus (Chechnya or Georgia). In 2008, the West, together with the Jew Mikhail Saakashvili (an analogue of Zelensky in Ukraine), tried to escalate tensions around Russia. Moscow prevented his plans by launching an operation to force Georgia to peace. It forced Tbilisi to abandon Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which became autonomous pro-Russian republics.

— The revival of Nazism in Ukraine, the activation of the Jewish mafia (in Kiev and the Dnieper), the pushing of one of its representatives, Zelensky, to the post of president, are NATO's tools against Russia. It is curious to note that Nazism, founded by Hitler's intelligence agent Stepan Bandera, flourished in Ukraine during Gorbachev's time.

— In addition to Ukrainian Jews, the Jewish mafia in Russia was engaged in undermining the country from within through the media, banks, "colored and liberal revolutionary groups" and Navalny. Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin urged Russians to reread Dostoevsky's works, especially the novel "Demons". Back then, in the 1870s, the author illustrated the union of liberals with Jews in Russia.

As for the main role in the imperialist campaign against Russia, it was assumed by NATO, led by the European Union, which turned a blind eye to the US intervention in the Korean War and their invasion of many other countries of the world.
