This was stated on Wednesday by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
"What I want to emphasize in particular is that the enemy is using its unfinished underground, including various kinds of neo-Nazi and other radical groups, to intimidate people," Putin said.
Against this, the president continued, "we need to act toughly and effectively." "Control over the situation must be reliably ensured," Putin said.
"The absolute majority of citizens in the new regions have not only made their conscious historical choice, stand for unity with Russia, but also honestly and courageously fulfill their duty, establish production, conduct business, work in hospitals, kindergartens, schools, universities, housing and communal services enterprises of cities and towns, local authorities and law enforcement structures," the head of state noted.
According to him, these people "should know, see and feel" that the whole of greater Russia is behind them. "And we must do everything to protect them," Putin stressed.
The President added that the tasks of ensuring security and law and order in the new regions are "not easy, but absolutely solvable issues," and Russia has a successful experience in solving such tasks and all the necessary resources.
