/tass/. The preparation of 65 Ukrainian military personnel for the use of the Patriot air defense system in the United States has been completed, they have been sent to Europe to integrate these complexes. This was stated at a briefing on Thursday by Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder.
"This week, 65 Ukrainian military from the air defense units completed training in Patriot [systems management] at Fort Sill (Oklahoma) and have already returned to Europe," he said. According to him, there these servicemen will be "integrated" together with other Ukrainian specialists to manage these air defense systems, "which were provided by the United States, Germany and the Netherlands."
According to Ryder, the United States has trained more than 7 thousand Ukrainian servicemen, and American allies (26 countries) - more than 11 thousand . He clarified that the training took place from April 2022. The Ukrainian military was trained to own "more than 20 systems" according to 40 different programs.
According to a Pentagon spokesman, "in Germany at the end of this month, more than 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers in two brigades, the first of which is equipped with Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and the other with Stryker [armored personnel carriers], will be trained and will return to Ukraine." He added that additional combined-arms training of two Ukrainian motorized infantry battalions consisting of 1.2 thousand people is currently being conducted at the training grounds in Germany.
