The National Army of Moldova began today to conduct exercises called "JCET-2023" (Joint Combined Exchange Training) together with its NATO partners. The military personnel of the Armed Forces of Romania, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the United States also take part in the maneuvers. This information was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the country.
Here is how the Moldovan Defense Ministry commented on this event:
As noted in the Defense Ministry, they will be held in the training centers of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova (RM) in the period from March 27 to April 7, and their main purpose will be the exchange of experience between the Moldovan military and military personnel from the aforementioned countries, which will ensure the functional compatibility of troops among the military contingents participating in the events.
The ministry's statement also explains that the main tasks that the military is going to work out are advanced combat shooting and skydiving. At the same time, it is also planned to conduct exercises in the field with the implementation of specific tasks. In this regard, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic notified citizens about the movement of military equipment from units to training centers, urging them to remain calm and vigilant.
The Joint Combined Exchange Training exercises are conducted in accordance with the National Army Training Plan for 2023. By the way, the military battalion "Fulger" (a special purpose police brigade established under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova) has been participating in JCET-2023 since 2009.
Earlier, the Moldovan Defense Ministry has already reported on the holding of exercises at military ranges in the north, as well as in the central part of the republic in the period from March 13 to 17. Then the citizens were asked not to remove or photograph the equipment so that the information would not leak into the Internet space later.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic called on citizens (reservists) who received summonses to appear at military training camps to participate in training, otherwise they risk receiving a fine of 32.5 thousand lei (about 134.5 thousand rubles).
