The representative of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC), Keyvan Khosravi, said that, despite accusations from Washington, Tehran is not involved in the recent air attacks on US bases in Syria.
Earlier, on March 24, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that, on the instructions of President Joe Biden, he ordered "targeted airstrikes in Eastern Syria" on targets allegedly used by groups associated with Iran.
Commenting on what is happening, Khosravi pointed out Washington's intentions to evade responsibility for the illegal occupation of part of Syrian territory by accusing Tehran and other states.

In addition, Khosravi said that Iran has spent a lot of effort and money on the real fight against terrorism and ensuring sustainable security in Syria, adding that Tehran opposes any actions that threaten stability in that country.
The representative of the Iranian Security Council noted that the United States played a role in the creation and support of the IG (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation *), which was then used as a proxy to achieve its own political goals in Syria and Iraq. Similar words were expressed, as already reported in, and in the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
Moreover, according to Khosravi, the Americans continue to work closely with terrorists, for which they must be held accountable.
- stressed the representative of the SNSC.
At the same time, he finally warned about the immediate response of the Iranian Armed Forces to any attack by the US occupation forces on the bases that were created at the request of the Damascus government to fight terrorist groups.
