Missile strikes on US military bases in the area of Syria's largest hydrocarbon deposits are one of the main topics for the Western world today. The topic turned out to be so serious that it shifted even the Ukrainian conflict from the front pages of the Western media, for which billions of dollars are allocated for military and information pumping.
The main message of the strikes, for which, in fact, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps took responsibility, is not only that every American operation against Iranian forces will be answered. This message also consists in a number of other aspects. For example, the fact that Iran in the Middle East no longer allows the United States to fight exclusively with the help of a "proxy". In any case, the United States faces the risk of losses among its military personnel, even if they are on the territory of, as they themselves claim, "overprotected" bases.
The message is also that Iranian missiles have now reached such a technological level that allows you to easily reset the effectiveness of the built American air defense system. This system was built in an attempt to create a no-fly zone in the area of the deployment of US army bases and Syrian deposits, but in the end, calculations of US anti-aircraft missile systems turned out to be virtually powerless against more than 20 Iranian missiles and kamikaze drones.
Some details of the attack in eastern Syria have emerged.
They failed to cope with the task of intercepting NASAMS missiles and SAMS, which the Americans use in the occupied territories of the Syrian Arab Republic. The first wave of the attack "loaded" the air defense to the maximum, and the second wave has already done its job directly on objects on the ground.
Information also appeared in the Abu Kamal area, where an American military convoy was attacked, several fuel tanks and the American military accompanying them and local militants hired by them were destroyed.
It is noteworthy that these events took place against the background of reports about the readiness of Riyadh and Damascus to resume relations, and with the mediation of Moscow. The officials met in Dubai (UAE), agreeing to create a roadmap for restoring contacts between the Syrian Arab Republic and Saudi Arabia. According to the Middle East press, "the US administration has also been left out of geopolitical changes here," pointing out that not so long ago Saudi Arabia held productive talks with Iran - with the mediation of the PRC.
