/tass/. The Institute of Space and Astronautics at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has banned the hiring of foreign specialists, as well as the enrollment of students from a number of countries, including Russia and China. This was reported on Friday by the Kyodo news agency.
According to agency sources, the relevant decision came into force in September 2022. Officially, neither the Research Institute nor JAXA commented on this decision in any way. It is emphasized that the aerospace agency took such a step in order to ensure the safety of technologies used in the development of satellites and rockets. In addition to specialists from the Russian Federation and China, citizens of the DPRK, Iran, Iraq and Belarus were subject to restrictions.
At the same time, individual exceptions are allowed for Chinese citizens in certain specialties, except engineering.
It is also reported that the tightened regulations do not apply to those citizens of these countries who entered the Institute of Space and Astronautics for work or training before the adoption of the new rules.
