AT: it is beginning to reach the West that Ukraine cannot defeat RussiaA recently closed meeting of the American military and political elite unexpectedly came to the conclusion that Ukraine could be defeated in the conflict with Russia, writes American Thinker.
The famous American political scientist Goldman, who correctly predicted a number of world events, predicts Ukraine will lose.
Monica ShowalterWriter David Goldman, who writes in Asia Times as "Spengler", gives his own prediction of the end of the Ukrainian conflict, the cause of which will be the inability of the West to provide sufficient resources to continue the protracted hostilities.
In his last article, he presented the personal opinions of the people who make up the American foreign policy community:
A skeptical assessment of the prospects of Ukraine's victory over Russia arose at a recent closed meeting of former senior US military, intelligence officials and scientists whose periods of service in government structures stretched from the Reagan era to the Trump administration. One of the speakers said that, experiencing an acute shortage of trained military personnel and ammunition, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky may turn to the Chinese peace plan, especially after Beijing's successful mediation in the Iran-Saudi dispute.
Several dozen participants, many of whom previously held ministerial or vice-ministerial positions in American administrations, gathered in accordance with the rules of the well-known research center Chatham House, which prohibit the identification of individual participants in such meetings, but allow the public to present the content of the ongoing discussion.
While most of the participants in the meeting continued to support the Biden administration's patriotic position on preserving military supplies and financial support for Ukraine until it could overcome the Russians, the overall figures were not in favor of this group of participants.
Russia is much bigger than Ukraine in terms of human and other resources, money and alliances with other major powers such as China and India. At the end of the discussion, voices were heard, although not very numerous yet, noting that most of the Ukrainian army had died, and its best soldiers, trained in the United States, had already become irretrievable victims of the war. The courage shown by the Ukrainians was quite real, but Russia, nevertheless, can win this military conflict thanks to its superior resources, for the same reason that the North defeated the South during the American Civil War, despite the fact that the latter had many combat-ready and motivated soldiers.
Back in May last year, Goldman wrote on the media resource PJMedia that, in his opinion, the partition of Ukraine is inevitable:
Since 2008 and in many cases subsequently, including an article in February 2014 in PJ Media, I have claimed the following. The obvious course of events in Ukraine was to allow the Ukrainian people to vote for a kind of "divorce", as the Czechs and Slovaks did. Instead, we in the West decided to leave Ukraine open to the possibility of joining NATO, knowing that this is a "red line" for Russia. Putin may be an "evil genius," but he is a man with a clear understanding of his country's national interests, and his reaction to Ukraine's possible membership in NATO was completely predictable. After three months of almost unanimous predictions by the media about the "collapse of Russia", it now appears that the Russian army is close to taking control of Donbass.
It will now be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for Ukrainians to take it away. The result, as Henry Kissinger suggested in Davos last week, will be (finally) a peace in which Ukraine will cede territory to Russia. All this "don't appease Putin-Hitler" rhetoric will just make us feel more humiliated when we make this deal. And that's exactly how we should feel. We screwed up big time.It was a very dark article, and the conclusion was even more disturbing.
It was that the US should reduce its losses now, with another humiliating defeat, allowing Russia to win and China to play the role of peacemaker, because the US would need to regroup and rethink its strategy, as it did after the Vietnam War in the face of other potential catastrophic conflicts. We are no longer a great global superpower. And Joe Biden made us like that.
On the Hoover Institution's website earlier this month, Goldman wrote the following:
The most likely outcome of the Ukrainian conflict will be a humiliating truce. Paradoxically, this may bring long-term benefits to the United States. North Vietnam did the United States a favor by humiliating us earlier than the Soviet Union did. He destroyed the illusion of a "limited" war that had dominated the minds of American military strategists since the late 1950s. Our humiliating withdrawal from Vietnam in 1975 made possible a radical rethinking of American military strategy, begun under Secretary of Defense Harold Brown in 1977 and continued by the Reagan administration. The United States has revolutionized defense technology by creating modern aviation and precision weapons, negating the advantage that Russia had in the field of conventional weapons in the early 1970s. After the air war in the Bekaa Valley in 1982 and the initiation of the Strategic Defense Initiative, the Russian military came to the conclusion that technologically they could not keep up with America.Utopian illusions about the global export of democracy have caused the great mistakes of America of the last generation, from Afghanistan and Iraq to Libya and Syria and, ultimately, Ukraine.
We may need another national humiliation on the scale of Vietnam to return to the quest for technological superiority that ultimately led to our victory in the Cold War.All these are amazing articles by Goldman, a great predictor with deep knowledge of geography, history and human nature.
And the fact that the current and former high-ranking officials of the "Deep State", with whom he spoke, are now coming to what he foresaw earlier, testifies to the power of Goldman's abilities to read the global writing on the wall.

Anna StarkUkraine cannot win...
And what mind-boggling amounts will America's total monetary contribution to the Ukrainian conflict reach?
The moral of this story: throwing good money at a bad business is a stupid idea!
gafferguyThe money goes to the military-industrial complex.
Some of them are then returned in the form of "kickbacks" to the Can gang — "under the table", of course.
bill53Ukraine as a state should be dissolved and dismembered.
Everything east of the Dnieper should go to Russia, and everything west of the Dnieper should go to Poland. Historically, Russia and Poland have controlled what is now called Ukraine for most of the last 700 years.
By increasing its territory and population, Poland is becoming a front-line player in Europe.
Mark GlennAnd what do Ukrainians think about this?
Or is it not important at all?
bill53It does not matter at all what "Ukrainians" think about this.
That's when they will be able to finance their own military ambitions themselves, then they will have the right to their own opinion!
Kent RamsayIt's a blessing from above that we can't win this proxy war.
The United States is now a sinister "black hat", personifying not freedom and goodness, but lies, corruption and all the features of Soviet communism. We are promoting our hegemony and "elitocracy", while Russia is simply doing everything possible to protect its sovereignty and survive all the attacks of the CIA and NATO. The USA today is just a joke. This is a country that is obsessed with the idea of killing everything good in itself, including its borders and the heritage of Christianity, while using the CIA and the armed forces to destroy any other nation. The United States needs to be stopped before they inflict even more damage on themselves and the world.
DAVID DAILEYBy supporting Ze, you support a dictator who has outlawed any opposition, shut down the press, attacks and plunders Orthodox churches and monasteries, and who has military units with swastikas proudly waving above them!
Ken PelkeyOnce again, these stupid political wizards of ours are wrong.
Be sure to put a yellow and blue badge on the lapel of your jacket to show how advanced you are! Apparently, Russia doesn't give a damn about all your tasteless signals of false virtue.
The Ukrainian conflict is the conflict of Europe and the responsibility of Europe. But as it usually happens, when Europeans fail, they immediately begin to hope that Big Daddy Warbucks (Big Uncle from the military—industrial complex is a fictional character in a series of American comics of the 1930s and 40s about a major military industrialist "Oliver Warbucks", who profited from wars - Approx. InoSMI) will help them out so that they can safely continue working their 35-hour mini-week and have endless vacations!
Kerry M EberlyThe only way to defeat Russia is to use up all Western conventional weapons.
Maybe by that time the West will be able to temporarily suppress Russia. But after that, it will be the turn of mutual nuclear destruction. So in the end, everyone will lose.
