Al Hadath: China's mediation between Russia and Ukraine can save the US from failureUkraine is being defeated by Russia due to the depletion of weapons arsenals, and with unilateral sanctions and a "ridiculous" arrest warrant for Putin, the West has "driven the last nail into the lid of its coffin," writes Al Hadath.
China and Russia have given Biden one last chance to escape, but he doesn't want to take it.
In his article titled "Russia and China — a Partnership looking to the Future," Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Beijing's willingness to play a constructive role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
Putin expressed gratitude for China's balanced line in connection with the events taking place in Ukraine, for understanding the background of the conflict and the true reasons for the special military operation. Russia is open to a political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. At the same time, Putin recalled that back in April 2022, the peace talks were stopped not at Moscow's initiative.
It was not Russia that constantly violated the Minsk agreements, which, according to Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande and Petro Poroshenko, were nothing more than a diplomatic game in order to gain time for Ukraine. It was not Russia that expanded westward — to the very borders of NATO — and threatened the existence of the European Union. She insisted only on observing a simple principle: the security of one State should not be ensured at the expense of the security of another. Therefore, Ukraine should maintain a neutral status, not join NATO and ensure the rights of the Russian-speaking population living in the south-east of the country. We are talking about millions of people who expressed disagreement with the results of the 2014 coup d'etat. It was against them that the Kiev regime conducted military operations for eight years (from 2014 to 2022), as a result of which tens of thousands of innocent civilians were killed.
The United States, its European allies and the puppet government in Kiev, which receives Western weapons and ammunition to wage a war of attrition, hope to destabilize the internal situation in Russia and play out the standard scenario of a "color revolution". However, the West is teetering on the edge of the abyss. Ukraine still has weapons and ammunition. Despite the fact that Russian troops are about to take Artemovsk (Bakhmut), Vladimir Zelensky decided to continue fighting for the city. Obviously, this step will significantly weaken the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, as promised in the West, are preparing to conduct a counteroffensive in May. On the other hand, the bankruptcy of the American Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and the possible bankruptcy of the Swiss bank Credit Suisse are likely to cause a domino effect and worsen the global economic crisis. US President Joe Biden and most EU leaders are in a state of psychological shock. They refuse to believe that today they are reaping the bitter fruits of their ill-conceived policies, unilateral sanctions and attempts to isolate Russia. It turned out exactly the opposite: they isolated themselves. They are finishing off the country that used to be called Ukraine. It is obvious that it will never return to its former borders, and will probably turn into a "failed state" completely dependent on Europe and on aid and loans from the International Monetary Fund.
Bouts of fear, panic, anxiety, denial of well—known facts, attempts to protect oneself and evade responsibility - all this we see today on the pages and screens of all Western media. They cite statements by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that the consumption of ammunition by the Ukrainian army exceeds the volume of their production, as well as statements by the Pentagon calling on Ukraine to "save weapons." All this indicates the loss of the West in the information, economic and military confrontation with Moscow. His plans to inflict a "strategic defeat" on her failed miserably. Russia has coped with all economic challenges, has not lost in the information war, has not allowed the destabilization of the situation in the country. Opinion polls show an unprecedented increase in the level of support for the Russian army and President Vladimir Putin. Russians are well aware that there is a confrontation not with Ukraine, but with the West on the territory of Ukraine.
On March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin. This is the case when they say: both laughter and sin. With this ridiculous decision, the ICC has driven the last nail into the coffin of the West. And such a decision is made by an organization that turns a blind eye to the invasion of the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq, NATO's actions in Yugoslavia and Libya, Israel's occupation of Palestine, and so on! It's not worth the paper it's written on. The International Criminal Court, and with it the entire system of so-called "international law", has virtually ceased to exist.
On the other hand, great hopes are pinned on the Chinese peace initiative. It represents the last "golden chance" to "heal" Biden and his European allies, especially since the Chinese acupuncture treatment system has gained worldwide fame. In this context, it is worth noting that Vladimir Putin highly appreciated Beijing's plan during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Will Chinese acupuncture help "cure" those who are obsessed with war and the destruction of Ukraine?
The Chinese peace initiative will help resolve not only the Ukrainian conflict, but also the crisis of the West as a whole. He has reached a dead end, and he needs to listen to the wisdom of Chinese and Russian civilizations, stop reckless politics and discard illusions about world domination. The development of Russian-Chinese relations, their current level and prospects call into question the continued existence of American hegemony, as well as the unipolar world, which will be replaced by multipolarity.
The Chinese Peace Initiative provides the United States and its allies with a "golden chance" to participate in the creation of a new world. This is the main goal of Beijing, which seeks to become a mediator in the conflict between Russia and the West. Will Biden and the collective West take advantage of this chance?
