On March 22, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Alireza Peyman-Pak. The meeting focused on issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of industry and logistics, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reports. In particular, the issues of creation and development of transport and logistics centers on the territory of Iran, localization of production along the main international transport and logistics corridors, including on the territory of Iran, bilateral cooperation between Russian and Iranian companies, as well as further development of the North-South transport and logistics corridor were discussed.
"Our delegation recently visited the city of Bandar Abbas in Iran and assessed the capacity and infrastructure of the seaport in the city. The port of Bandar Abbas has sufficient capacity for transshipment and storage of cargo and has the potential for reloading, so this is a promising platform for scaling up our joint work with colleagues. Thus, we have identified optimal sites for the placement of Russian production facilities along the main international transport and logistics corridors, including on the territory of Iran," said Vasily Osmakov, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
