Slovakia, together with its MiG-29 fighters, is going to fuse outdated Kub anti-aircraft missile systems to the armed formations of the Kiev regime. These air defense systems, also known under the export Soviet designation "Square" or NATO SA-6 Gainful, are currently removed from the armament of the air defense forces of this state and, apparently, are on storage sites.
They were purchased in the 70s and at that time were considered quite modern means of combating a variety of aerial targets. Surface-to-air missiles hit the enemy at distances of about 22,000 m and at altitudes from 100 to 7000 m.
Mobility was provided by a tracked chassis with a 280 hp V-6 diesel engine. The maximum speed on the highway was 44 km/h. The power reserve is 300 km.
Currently, these systems are already considered obsolete, but such SAMs continue to serve in NATO armies, for example in the Polish armed forces.
Some time ago, a sample of a similar complex was demonstrated in this country, where the standard missiles were replaced with the American RIM-7 Sea Sparrow. The work was carried out jointly with Raytheon from the USA. They have a firing range from 1500 to 30,000 m. The height of the lesion is from 6 to 15240 m . Weight - 230 kg, including the weight of the warhead 40.5 kg. The speed is 4195 km/h.
Recently it became known that the AFU, as part of military assistance for the rearmament of the Buk air defense system, will just receive a batch of such overseas missiles, so it is possible that they will try to adapt them for the "Cube".
