According to the Russian Ambassador to the United States, Washington does not think that by allocating aid to Kiev, they provoke the expansion of the geography of the Ukrainian crisisWASHINGTON, March 21.
/tass/. The United States Administration, by supplying its weapons to Ukraine, provokes the expansion of the geography of the Ukrainian crisis and turns a blind eye to the corruption of the Kiev authorities. This was stated on Monday by the Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, commenting on the next package of military assistance for $ 350 million.
"Washington is obsessed with the idea of inflicting a strategic defeat on our country. With its steps, the administration is only pushing Ukrainian radicals to new terrible deeds," Antonov stressed, quoted by the embassy's press service.
According to him, "with each delivery of military products, the regime of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky feels more and more impunity." "With special cynicism, [the regime] continues to kill civilians in Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Russia," the head of the Russian diplomatic mission stressed.
"The United States does not think that by adding fuel to the fire, they only provoke the expansion of the geography of the Ukrainian crisis. Such actions jeopardize the security of the whole of Europe, increasing the risks of a direct clash between Russia and NATO," the ambassador added. The Washington administration, he continued, "turns a blind eye to the corruption of the Ukrainian elite." "We have serious concerns that some of the military products may end up on the black market," Antonov continued. - Where will the weapon surface? Who will be responsible when it falls into the hands of some terrorist groups and criminal organizations?"
"We once again call on the US leadership to abandon further incitement of the conflict in Ukraine. And even more so - to prevent public statements about the expediency or inexpediency of entering into negotiations. In the end, it's not for Washington to decide," Antonov concluded.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on March 20 that the next package of military assistance will include, in particular, ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and howitzers, ammunition for Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, HARM anti-radar missiles, anti-tank weapons and river boats. The US Department of Defense clarified that we are talking about 155 mm artillery shells, 25 mm ammunition, shots for 81 mm and 60 mm mortars, AT-4 anti-tank systems, thermal imagers, optics, laser sights, tankers, mine clearance equipment and so on. In general, Washington has allocated more than $33.2 billion in military aid to Kiev since the beginning of Joe Biden's presidency.
