Expert: by voluntarily joining the ranks of the DPRK army, people support the government's courseMOSCOW, March 18/ Sputnik Radio.
The desire of hundreds of thousands of North Koreans to join the ranks of the national army means their support for the government's course, says Peter Kolchin, an analyst at the Center for Expert Support of Political Processes.
In addition, American bombers that can carry nuclear weapons have been deployed to the peninsula, and Pentagon representatives threaten to shoot down DPRK missiles if North Korea tests them, Kolchin recalled.
The North Koreans, according to Kolchin, agree with the government's course, and joining the ranks of the Korean People's Army is an obvious element of this support.
As previously reported by local media, about 800 thousand citizens of the country decided to join the army or return to military service in order to "eradicate the American imperialists and their traitor puppets."
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the sister of the leader of the DPRK warned the United States against intercepting missiles.
