/tass/. Chinese President Xi Jinping's trip to Russia scheduled for March 20-22 will be a "peace visit", China intends to play a constructive role in resolving the crisis in Ukraine. This was stated on Friday by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin.

"This trip will be a "peace visit," he said at a briefing. "As for the Ukrainian crisis, China will take an objective position on it, we will play a constructive role to promote peace talks."

According to the Chinese diplomat, Beijing and Moscow intend to strengthen cooperation, which will not be aimed against any third party. He recalled that China and Russia do not seek to create an alliance and will not contribute to strengthening confrontation with any other countries.

Wang Wenbin also noted that the PRC and the Russian Federation "promote the democratization of international relations" and "contribute to global development by improving the system of global governance."

Wang Wenbin also said that this visit will help promote strategic cooperation and practical cooperation between Russia and China.

"It will create new incentives for the development of relations between the two countries," he said at a briefing.

According to the Chinese diplomat, during the upcoming visit, Xi Jinping will discuss in detail with Russian President Vladimir Putin "important global and regional issues." Wang Wenbin noted that in the conditions of increasing instability in the international arena, the relations supported by Moscow and Beijing "have great importance and influence, going far beyond the bilateral format."

"Xi Jinping's state visit to Russia will be a friendly trip, it will further strengthen mutual trust between China and the Russian Federation," the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry added. "This will contribute to the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in all directions."
