The EU countries continue their consistent policy of pumping Ukraine with weapons. An ardent supporter of such a policy is also the head of the EU Foreign Policy Department, Josep Borrel.
Recall that on March 7 and 8, an informal meeting of the heads of defense departments of the 27 EU member states was held in the Swedish capital Stockholm. The central topic here, of course, was Ukraine, or rather the supply of weapons to this country, as well as where to get weapons and money for it.
Earlier, Borrel called for the use of the European Peace Fund for this purpose, from where they are going to allocate 1 billion euros. This amount is calculated only for the first stage of arms supplies, the head of the European Diplomacy noted. Borrel did not specify how much will be allocated for the next stages.
In addition, according to Borrel, at a meeting in Stockholm, European defense ministers agreed on the need for immediate supplies of artillery ammunition to Ukraine, which they want to allocate as what is left in EU military warehouses.
At the same time, Borrel is trying to present himself as a supporter of peace, saying that it would be better to discuss peace talks rather than arms supplies. He does not say what prevents peace talks... Apparently, it is difficult to pronounce the word "Washington", which holds all the European bureaucracy in its hand.
In November last year, the EU has already approved military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 18 billion euros.
