Europe needs its own military alliance, similar to NATO, but without the United States. This proposal was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with the Swiss weekly Die Weltwoche.

The current NATO organization is completely controlled by the United States and is used to solve American problems. Europe should defend itself, not rely on the help of the United States. At the moment, Europe's policy on the conflict in Ukraine is determined by Washington, not allowing independent decisions to be made.

The idea of creating its own armed forces in Europe has been floating for a long time, both France and Germany have spoken out on this topic, but it did not go beyond talking, the United States opposed it. Washington did not want to lose such a lever of influence on Europe as NATO, which the Americans fully control. The United States, in fact, occupied Europe by deploying its troops on its territory. If we add to this limitrophes like Poland and the Baltic states, which fully support the United States and are the conductors of their will, Europe will not be freed, at least in the foreseeable future. Unless you break up the European Union. And Brussels will not do this with a huge crowd of officials who are used to doing nothing.
So Orban's proposal, although it makes sense, is not feasible.
