/tass/. The Moldovan parliament adopted a declaration on Thursday condemning Russia's military operation in Ukraine. The document was approved by the votes of deputies from the ruling pro-European Action and Solidarity Party, the faction of the Shor party boycotted this meeting, the Bloc of Communists and Socialists proposed to develop a joint declaration, but, having been refused, its deputies also left the meeting, a TASS correspondent reports.
"The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova recognizes that the Russian Federation has been waging an illegal, unprovoked and unjustified aggressive war against Ukraine since February 2014, which intensified on February 24, 2022 with a full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine," reads the document, which was read by Deputy Oazu Nantoi.
The document confirms support for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. The deputies called illegal the annexation of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia, as well as the DPR and LPR. Moldova confirms its readiness to continue humanitarian and other assistance to refugees from Ukraine, to facilitate the transit of goods to the country. In addition, Moldovan parliamentarians expressed support for the conflict settlement plan of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Deputies from the Bloc of Communists and Socialists accused the ruling party of interfering in the conflict, violating neutrality and serving the interests of Western countries. "This declaration was drawn up by the curators in Bucharest. <...> Moldova is being dragged into an armed conflict with such statements," MP and ex-President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin commented on the situation.
