As China's permanent representative to the European Union Fu Tsung stated, "China has its own independent foreign policy and will not blindly follow the positions and policies of others"BEIJING, March 2.
/tass/. Beijing believes that it is irrational for China to take an identical position with the European Union on Ukraine. This was stated by the permanent Representative of China to the European Union Fu Tsung in an interview published on Thursday with the Global Times newspaper.
"Due to various factors, anti-Russian sentiment in Europe is now heated, a lot of emotions are reflected in their [European] policy, there are signs of anger at China. I think it's very irrational," Fu Tsung said. - As a large country, China has its own independent foreign policy and will not blindly follow the positions and policies of others. It is not very rational for China to take an identical position with the EU on the Ukrainian issue."
He noted that the head of the office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Foreign Affairs, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Wang Yi, during a European tour in late February, made it clear that Beijing's position on Ukraine boils down to one proposal - to promote peace. "The visit to Europe and Russia shows that China is promoting peace talks," Fu Tsung said.
