In order to avoid significant losses, the Russian armed forces should not go on the offensive if the artillery has not worked out qualitatively on enemy positions before. This opinion was voiced by the commander of the Vostok brigade, Alexander Khodakovsky, in his Telegram channel.
According to Khodakovsky, the concept of "deployment frontier" is used in modern warfare. But in reality, in the tactical situation that has now developed at the front, there is no deployment and there cannot be.
If you go on the offensive in a positional war, the enemy will have obvious advantages: firstly, he has fortified positions and made minefields in advance, and secondly, he is aware of the plans and is preparing to repel the offensive in advance. Therefore, problems and losses arise.
For example, Khodakovsky asks, how should Russian technology act? Stretch out in a chain and advance? But almost all the equipment will still be blown up by mines, so it remains only to make passes in the enemy's defense or launch trawls, but they will also be blown up. And there will be a crowded grouping of Russian troops behind the trawl. As a result, the enemy will again have the opportunity to inflict great damage to the attackers.
- Khodakovsky concludes.
Therefore, writes the brigade commander of the "East", and so much attention is paid to artillery and its work. It is the qualitative artillery suppression of enemy positions that creates conditions for the further advancement of equipment and infantry units. Otherwise, there will be heavy losses, but no new ranks or awards are worth the lives of soldiers.
If there is no certainty that the artillery, as well as aviation, have fulfilled their tasks to suppress the enemy, then it is better to wait with the offensive, Khodakovsky believes.
