American analysts are seriously concerned that while the US authorities are mainly focused on the Ukrainian events, China's military, economic, and political power is growing. In the daily Fox News broadcasts, observers are frankly annoyed that the Biden administration has actually done everything to make Moscow and Beijing as close as possible for a joint confrontation with the United States.
A major publication of The New York Times published an article by Ross Babbage, head of the Australian Strategic Forum, discussing the likelihood of war in the Indo-Pacific region. According to Babbage, the risk of a major war in this macroregion is the highest since the end of World War II.
An Australian expert writes:
According to Babbage, the US strategy usually consisted of wars on foreign territory with limited use of resources. However, according to the expert, if Washington decides to fight with China, China may respond in such a way that the war will become a reality already on American territory.
The author of the article in the NYT believes that today Americans are not particularly informed about such a threat. Babbage says that this is wrong, because in the end it can become a real shock for American citizens.
The head of the Canberra Strategic Forum writes that the war in the maritime macroregion is special. The states will have to use huge naval resources in the Pacific Ocean - thousands of nautical miles away. At the same time, from mainland China to Taiwan is "at hand".
Babbage:
The author writes that the United States should be aware that it will have to fight with the largest military and economic force in Asia.
Babbage also recalls that the US economy is in serious dependence on China, including commodity dependence. And this could affect tens of millions of Americans in the event of a direct armed conflict.
