"A well-worn cliche in the last week, which appeared much earlier, was the statement that if Russia stops military operations, there will be no war, and if Ukraine does it, then there will be no Ukraine. It sounds beautiful, but absolutely false," he said. - Tell me, where, when and from whom did you hear that the purpose of our military operation is the destruction of Ukraine, its de-Ukrainization? Nebenzia stressed that Russia has always advocated having a friendly neighbor next to it, who "does not discriminate against anyone and is not engaged in the revival of Nazism." "Therefore, your (Western countries - approx. TASS) this slogan should actually sound like this: if Russia stops military operations, discrimination and persecution of the Russian-speaking population will continue in Ukraine, against those who do not want to break with Russia, violation of their rights and freedoms, glorification of Nazi criminals will continue," he said. "If Ukraine stops fighting, it will get a chance to be reborn as a normal peace-loving independent state and will save many thousands of human lives."
"That is why we have repeatedly stated that we are ready to negotiate on how the goals of our CSR can be implemented by peaceful means. Of course, we will not even consider schemes implying other scenarios," the Russian diplomat added.
"We have repeatedly said this week that only the collective West is not interested in ending hostilities in Ukraine, which, as we all now know for sure, did not allow the Kiev regime to conclude peace in March-April last year," the diplomat noted. - Our Western colleagues are satisfied with everything now.
