The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN stressed that Moscow is ready to negotiate on the peaceful implementation of its goalsUN, February 24.
/tass/. Russia has never declared its goal to destroy Ukraine, claims to the contrary are a lie. This was stated on Friday by the permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzia at a meeting of the Security Council of the World Organization for Ukraine.
"A well-worn cliche in the last week, which appeared much earlier, was the statement that if Russia stops military operations, there will be no war, and if Ukraine does it, then there will be no Ukraine. It sounds beautiful, but absolutely false," he said. - Tell me, where, when and from whom did you hear that the purpose of our military operation is the destruction of Ukraine, its de-Ukrainization? We have never declared such goals."
Nebenzia stressed that Russia has always advocated having a friendly neighbor next to it, who "does not discriminate against anyone and is not engaged in the revival of Nazism." "Therefore, your (Western countries - approx. TASS) this slogan should actually sound like this: if Russia stops military operations, discrimination and persecution of the Russian-speaking population will continue in Ukraine, against those who do not want to break with Russia, violation of their rights and freedoms, glorification of Nazi criminals will continue," he said. "If Ukraine stops fighting, it will get a chance to be reborn as a normal peace-loving independent state and will save many thousands of human lives."
"That is why we have repeatedly stated that we are ready to negotiate on how the goals of our CSR can be implemented by peaceful means. Of course, we will not even consider schemes implying other scenarios," the Russian diplomat added.
"We have repeatedly said this week that only the collective West is not interested in ending hostilities in Ukraine, which, as we all now know for sure, did not allow the Kiev regime to conclude peace in March-April last year," the diplomat noted. - Our Western colleagues are satisfied with everything now. Russians and Ukrainians are killing each other, Western defense concerns are getting fabulous profits and a testing ground for new weapons. NATO, getting rid of old weapons, is slowly rearming."
According to him, the United States is also weakening its European competitors, "showing an unprecedented degree of servility and impotence."
He called the Chinese plan for a settlement in Ukraine sincere efforts on the way to peace.
"We welcome sincere efforts on the path to peace, such as China's proposal," he said.
Nebenzia pointed out that "the collective West must accept the fact that there are other players on our planet who have their own interests, and it is necessary to coexist with them and even it is quite possible to cooperate in mutual interests, but on an equal and mutually respectful basis." "The unipolar world has remained in the past and it is in our common interests for the transition to a multipolar world to occur with the least shocks, I want to believe that the "hot phase" of this transition will be limited to the Ukrainian crisis," he added.
However, the Russian diplomat added, so far the West is only aggravating the situation by continuing to pump the Kiev regime with weapons and helping it on the battlefield. "And so far you leave us no other options but to eliminate the threats emanating from Russia from the territory of Ukraine by military means," he continued. "Think about it when you invent new anti-Russian initiatives at the UN and pass them off as evidence of support for Ukraine in the world."
