In an attempt to defeat Russia, a variety of weapons are being poisoned to Ukraine from all over Europe and often to the detriment of their own security.
However, there are also those who do not want to risk their country's defense capability for the sake of Kiev's interests.
So, Greece decided to abandon previously announced plans to transfer S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. Speaking on the Greek TV channel EPT1, the head of the country's Defense Ministry Nikos Panagiotopoulos said that Athens is not going to send Kiev the S-300 air defense system, thereby weakening its own defense system.
According to Panagiotopoulos, the S-300 complexes were acquired at one time for certain purposes, and while the reasons for their purchase remain, Greece cannot afford to say goodbye to them.
Recall that Greece has uneasy relations with its NATO ally Turkey, which have recently become very aggravated, to the point that statements about a possible war have begun to sound. It is obvious that in such conditions Athens itself needs more weapons.
The Defense Minister also said that it may be necessary to replace these complexes over time, as their support is becoming more difficult.
The Russian Foreign Ministry earlier called the plans for the transfer of the S-300 by Athens to Kiev hostile to Moscow.
