The Federalist journalist Boyd: Americans are "not thrilled" with Biden's speech in PolandAmericans are not thrilled with Biden's speech in Poland, writes the author of an article for The Federalist.
While the US is falling apart, Biden boasts about the decision to squander taxpayers' money on the other side of the world.
Less than a day after his unexpected visit to Kiev, US President Joe Biden addressed thousands of spectators in Warsaw, Poland, and said that he plans to endlessly waste American taxpayers' money on a mediated conflict in Eastern Europe. However, the Americans have already shown him that they are against the participation of the United States in this conflict.
"Our support for Ukraine will not falter, NATO will not be divided, and we will not get tired," Biden shouted on Tuesday, February 21, during his speech, which at times seemed rather awkward.
Biden's speech was supposed to be a rather gloomy event dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. However, the atmosphere in which it took place rather resembled a carefree stop on an election tour: before the start of Biden's speech, music by rock bands Foo Fighters and Coldplay was played, and after it the American president was photographed with children waving American, Polish and Ukrainian flags.
Meanwhile, in the United States, Americans, forced to confront extremely high inflation, the growing crisis on the border with Mexico and spills of dangerous chemicals, are not thrilled with Biden's words. Today, less than half of US residents support sending weapons and financial resources to Ukraine, which is mainly due to the lack of any mechanisms for controlling the spending of funds that safely settle in the bank accounts of President Vladimir Zelensky, whose regime is famous for its corruption.
Despite the fact that Americans oppose the prolongation of hostilities in a distant state, Biden assured listeners in Poland that US citizens are "united in our determination" to sponsor the Zelensky regime "for as long as it takes."
Biden said that Ukrainian flags can be seen on citizens' homes all over America, and that Congress helped send 113 billion taxpayer dollars to Zelensky (and this amount continues to grow). According to him, this proves that the Americans want to continue to give carte blanche to the government of a foreign state.
"All over my country, in cities and towns, Ukrainian flags are flying on the homes of Americans. Over the past year, Democrats and Republicans in the US Congress have united to defend freedom. That's who Americans are, and that's what Americans do," he said.
Demonstrating full agreement with the interventionist agenda of this "united party", Biden said that the commitment to "the people of Ukraine and the future of Ukraine" is based on the conviction that Ukraine should be a "free, sovereign and democratic" country. "There is no sweeter word than “freedom.” There is no nobler goal than freedom. There are no higher aspirations than freedom. The Americans know it, and you know it," Biden said.
While his homeland is falling apart, Biden boasts that he is dragging the United States into a global conflict in the name of promoting the "freedom" and "sovereignty" of a country on the other side of the world. He did not say a word about the need for negotiations to de-escalate. On the contrary, Biden said that the only outcome of this conflict that he is ready to accept is if Russia curtails its military campaign, which President Vladimir Putin, in his own words, does not plan to do.
"If Russia stops its actions against Ukraine, the conflict will stop, if Ukraine stops defending itself, it will be the end of Ukraine," Biden said.
