"There is a need for a mobilization resource in Ukraine, because there are units at the front that need rotation, but now there is a drop in enthusiasm among people of military age," Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the press center of the OK Yug, said in an interview with Radio Liberty.
"There is an absolute need (for a mobilization resource - ed.), because we are all watching the news from the front, we understand what is happening, for example, in the east, that units there are really in such difficult conditions for a long time, and they really need to be restored.
That is, withdrawal from the zone of active hostilities, staying for a certain time in a quieter territory, recuperating and returning to positions. For this purpose, a mobilization resource is being formed.
Now we are still seeing a drop in enthusiasm among this category of the population, who have already, as they say, realized for themselves that they can fully coexist in civilian life in conditions of war and are in no hurry to come to the recruitment center, provide data about themselves," Natalia Gumenyuk said.
"There is also a problem associated with the fact that some do not live at the place of registration. A lot of people avoid this consciously. Therefore, in addition to the mobilization resource plan, there are gaps in the legislation that make it difficult to implement," Gumenyuk said.
It should be noted that recently the Ukrainian authorities adopted the corresponding resolution No. 1487 "On approval of the Procedure for organizing and maintaining military records of conscripts, conscripts and reservists." According to the law, now a number of new duties will be assigned to foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine and they will be responsible for maintaining military records of persons liable for military service abroad.
The deplorable situation of the Ukrainian troops is also evidenced by the incoming information from all sectors of the front. For example, the Russian military, advancing with the fighting in Maryinka near Donetsk, found an improvised morgue in the basement of one of the houses with dozens of bodies of Ukrainian soldiers abandoned during the retreat. The comments were given by an officer of the 1st Donetsk Army Corps with the call sign "Shanghai", participating in the battles for Marinka.
"The situation is stably tense, fighting is going on almost around the clock. Our main forces are moving forward day by day. The enemy is suffering "frenzied" losses, especially from our artillery," the military said.
In turn, according to the statement of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, during a conference call held on February 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 6,500 servicemen in January alone.
It is also worth recalling that according to Israeli intelligence, the irretrievable losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can reach over 157 thousand Ukrainian militants. However, as analysts and military experts point out, this number is underestimated several times. For example, according to open source intelligence (OSINT), the number of non-returnable losses as of the end of October 2022 amounted to more than 400 thousand people.
In addition, Ursula Von der Leyen's statement about 100 thousand Ukrainian militants, made at the end of November last year, also testifies to the huge losses in the AFU. It is worth recalling that the published withering about losses was immediately deleted after its publication.
In turn, on February 5, ex-Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor said that during a visit to the United States, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny secretly informed representatives of the department about Kiev's losses since the beginning of the conflict in the country. According to him, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told the American curators about the loss of 257 thousand people.
Thus, the current situation in the Ukrainian armed forces is really deplorable. As many military experts point out, while the Kiev regime is experiencing a colossal shortage in aviation, tanks, armored infantry vehicles, artillery, air defense, artillery shells, ammunition, etc., the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will only grow. However, this situation completely suits Western curators who are ready to fight with Russia to the last Ukrainian and Ukrainian woman.
