/tass/. King Charles III of Great Britain visited on Monday a training base in the south-west of England, where Ukrainian servicemen are being trained. The corresponding video was distributed by the Daily Express newspaper.
It is reported that the monarch, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the British Ground Forces, Patrick Sanders, watched the training of the AFU fighters conducted by the British and Western military, and talked with them. Charles III also met with instructors of various units from both the UK and nine other countries - Australia, Denmark, Canada, Lithuania, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland and Sweden. They are involved in this training, which usually takes 35 days.
London began a similar training program for AFU fighters in the UK in July 2022 and intends to continue it throughout 2023. At the end of January, the British Ministry of Defense called the goal to train up to 40 thousand Ukrainian servicemen in 2023. To date, about 10 thousand Ukrainian servicemen have been trained on the territory of the United Kingdom.
