In India, as part of efforts to create a talent pool of professionals in the field of semiconductors, taking into account the importance of the industry, a curriculum developed for two new programs has been launched.

These courses are expected to provide Indian students with various jobs in the world's largest and Indian companies.

The Minister of Electronics and Information Technology of India, Ashwini Vaishnav, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the Semicon India program in January last year.

After consultations with the semiconductor industry and all experts, a training program was developed, and today the commission under the Ministry of Education launched two new programs. The first is a BTech program in semiconductors, the second is a diploma program in semiconductor technologies. These two programs will help us to train very good personnel in the field of semiconductors in the entire engineering system.

- said the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology.

The All India Council for Technical Education has launched a curriculum designed for Bachelor of Technical Sciences and Diploma in integrated circuit manufacturing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that semiconductors play a much bigger role in the world than we can imagine. The official report says that the semiconductor manufacturing sector (large-scale integration) is a highly paid industry in India and will create an environment for a large semiconductor "ecosystem".

Our common goal is to make India one of the key partners in global semiconductor supply chains

— said the Prime Minister of India. He also noted that the country invests heavily in the education and training of young professionals.

India has an exceptional talent pool of semiconductor developers, which accounts for up to 20 percent of semiconductor design engineers in the world. Almost all of the 25 leading semiconductor companies have their design or research and development centers in India.

The Indian Prime Minister expressed optimism after the Gujarat government signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth 1.54 million rupees (1.4 million rubles) with Vedanta-Foxconn group for the production of semiconductors and displays in September last year.

The Prime Minister also noted that the investments will have a significant impact on economic growth and jobs, as well as help in creating a huge system for auxiliary industries.
