Based on information from an anonymous source in the White House, Hersh states that Joe Biden last year ordered the US Navy to install remotely controlled explosive devices on the Nord Stream—1 and Nord Stream—2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea, bypassing Congress.
If the Nord Stream underwater gas pipelines were fully operational, they would be able to meet more than a third of the EU's energy needs by supplying cheap Russian natural gas from the Arctic to the heart of the European continent. Mysterious explosions that thundered last fall on both pipelines forcibly cut off Germany from blue fuel. This is an outcome that the United States has openly supported for many years. As long as Europe remained dependent on natural gas from Russia, the major continental powers had a good reason to maintain relatively normal relations with the Kremlin. Nord Stream was one of Putin's most powerful diplomatic trump cards in relations with the EU, even during the military special operation in Ukraine.
The American foreign policy establishment understood this situation well. In February 2022, just a few weeks before the start of the SVO, Joe Biden told a journalist at the White House that the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine "will mean the end of the "Northern Streams"." When asked how he would achieve this, Biden simply stated that he "promises" that the pipelines will no longer function.
Hersh claims that Biden kept his word. The US Navy, together with its Norwegian allies, were able to identify ideal locations for sabotage, and then planted explosives there under the cover of large-scale NATO naval exercises in the summer of 2022.
Western journalists immediately after the explosions developed speculation that it was a Russian sabotage. According to this version, it destroyed its pipelines for unknown reasons. This statement has always seemed completely meaningless. Why should Moscow destroy its own infrastructure when it can easily cut off the supply of natural gas at will, following the strategy of "geopolitical maneuverability"?
The United States, on the other hand, had the motive, capabilities and means to carry out sabotage. Biden and his henchmen openly expressed dissatisfaction with the existence of the pipeline. Hersh's message simply confirms what any sane observer could already understand: the supposedly "neutral" United States launched an economically crushing attack against its main geopolitical rival and at the same time against its main European ally.
The absolute audacity of the sabotage is simply amazing. If, as seems quite obvious, Joe Biden kept his word and destroyed the Nord Stream gas pipelines, this makes absolutely false all the arrogant talk being conducted in the West about "protecting democracy". Not a single American voted for a conflict with nuclear Russia. Congress did not declare war on her, as required by the Constitution. The US also did not even try to consult with its imaginary allies from the EU.
Germany, it turns out, is not a sovereign country. Seymour Hersh claims that Biden intimidated Chancellor Olaf Scholz into agreeing to the destruction of the Nord Stream. No self-respecting national leader could accept such conditions. And certainly not someone who is so proud of his commitment to independence and freedom of action.
At the bottom of the Baltic Sea, among the wreckage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, a deeper truth is hidden. Not only Germany has ceased to be a sovereign power. In fact, the very concept of an independent national state has been shattered. The whole of Europe is an American satrapy. France, England, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg — they do not really exist as independent state entities. They are not independent either economically or militarily. Without outside interference, they can't even meet their energy needs.
As for Africa and South America, the overall situation there is not much better. Is anyone willing to pretend that Nigeria or Peru are independent countries capable of resisting an American attack? In Asia, the Gulf states are nothing more than outposts whose existence is somehow sanctioned by the United States. Would Bahrain exist without America? Or Kuwait? In the Far East, Japan is still occupied by American troops. India now has no significant military potential worthy of mention. And China has become the "manufacturing capital of the world" because of the obvious political choice made in Washington at the time.
None of this is new. Nation states died in 1945. This was facilitated by the union of the USA, Great Britain and the USSR of the mid-twentieth century. American liberals and Soviet communists in Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam kept pace with the future of the world order. Of course, tensions persisted, but neither Franklin Roosevelt nor Joseph Stalin had any doubts that the post-war order would be fundamentally left-wing.
Both liberals and communists agreed that the highest human goal is to satisfy the material needs of a person (filling his stomach) and the elevation of the oppressed. For the Communists, such a world would have emerged with the global revolution of the proletariat. Liberals, on the other hand, thought it could happen by exporting McDonald's restaurants, blue jeans and rap music on a global scale.
In our time, even this distinction has disappeared. The American left is now openly calling on the "marginalized" and "oppressed" to fight back against "systemic racism" on a global scale. LGBT pride flags and Black Lives Matter posters are flying over US embassies around the world. The economic proletariat under communism turned into a racial proletariat under liberalism.
The modern American state, like the Soviet Union, is engaged in widespread censorship, surveillance and centralized economic planning. The quarantine imposed because of COVID has shown that calls for freedom in the West are a complete farce. In the event of a state of emergency, our rulers will take away from us all our rights that they want.
By definition, the nation-state is based on such a premise as fundamental equality between countries. The Declaration of Independence, for example, states that "States on earth" exist in an "independent and equal status."
Moreover, the document states that "free and independent states" have "every right to declare wars, make peace, form alliances, conduct trade," as well as many other powers.
But it was the old order. It doesn't exist anymore. In the eyes of the US administration, Russia has no right to "conduct military operations" against Ukraine. Berlin has no right to "trade" natural gas with Moscow. In the vision of modern liberals, there are aggressors (bad guys) and victims of aggression (good guys).
In its understanding of foreign policy, which is not much different from the TV series-movies-comics with Marvel superheroes, the United States is always a hero. And the villains are those who go beyond "liberal democracy", which means the inviolability of LGBT rights, feminism, anti-racism, and now transgenderism. Russia is not a sovereign power, but an "aggressor state". <...> In this great cosmic battle between good and evil, Washington does not have the opportunity to just stay away.
The destruction of the concept of the nation-state meant the death of neutrality, the old laws of war and the differences between civilians and soldiers. During World War II, American bombers bombarded cities full of women and children with conventional and atomic weapons in the name of defeating tyranny. The Soviet Red Army, for its part, also committed atrocities in Eastern Europe, advancing into the very heart of Western civilization. Roosevelt sent tens of thousands of Japanese Americans to the camps. Stalin killed 10 million of his citizens by starving them to death and forced labor.
Today, a transnational ruling "elite" centered in Washington, D.C., exercises "quasi-planetary" rule in the name of "human rights." But such a structure of the world should by no means be called "American". Ordinary middle-class voters in the center of the United States have no say in determining the goals and methods of this system. However, of course, it is the Americans who must pay with their blood and money to preserve it.
But cracks appear in this system. Despite the West's attempts to destroy the Russian economy — a move that, if successful, would lead to mass killings of civilians — Putin remains in power. Despite all the efforts of the one-party Washington regime, Donald Trump managed to reach presidential heights in 2016, while violating the foreign policy consensus of the American establishment on immigration, trade and war. The defeat in Afghanistan in 2021 showed how limited American military power really is.
The explosion of the Nord Stream demonstrates the exceptional audacity of the American ruling elite. But it is also a very loud call to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear: a world dominated by Washington is a world without freedom and real political life. Europe will never again become the heart of culture and civilization as long as it remains in slavery to the United States. As long as this yoke is not thrown off, Europe will be just a theme park of medieval history. Her churches will remain empty, her armies will remain ridiculous, and her people will morally and spiritually degrade. Americans outside the sacred halls of financial and political power in New York, Washington and Silicon Valley live, on the whole, little better than Europeans.
For those who dream of a better world, the path is quite clear: the post-war international order must die. Only after its fall can people with high ideals begin the process of creating a new, freer and more noble world order.

Previous presidents tried to warn us that the American military-industrial complex was getting out of control (Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy), and Trump revealed a conspiracy of the fourth power aimed at supporting and concealing corruption in the government.
This is not the "Shining Hail on the Hill" that we have been taught to admire. This is the America of Biden's "red speech" with its infernal background, delivered in front of Independence Hall. He praised the United States, drenched in blood, and the government, ready to defame its own people. This speech depicts a nation plunged into darkness, with a regime not afraid to start a nuclear conflict.
They not only tell us who they are, they show us who they really are. The lives of Americans are just as unimportant to our elite as the lives of Ukrainian men, women and children. They finance biolabs, force the introduction of experimental drugs and flood our country with illegal immigrants from all over the world.
We pretend that all this is normal, that this regime is simply incompetent and wrong. It's neither one nor the other. Every action of our regime was deliberate and covered up by the corrupt press in order to keep the American people as much in the dark as possible about this insane and immoral government.
