Al-Ayyam: the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not lead to victory over Russia, and the West understands thisThe West with its own hands ensured Ukraine's defeat in the confrontation with Russia, writes Al-Ayyam.
Kiev relies too much on the military-industrial complex of the USA and the EU, and the "quality" of their weapons, as the situation at the front shows, is questionable. So Moscow's victory is a matter of time, the author of the article believes.
In the West, they believe that big losses are better than complete defeat. And this is the right belief. However, it is not at all easy to choose, because losses still have a taste of loss, and also require bold decisions, which European leaders cannot afford yet.
This requires wisdom, which, as experience has shown, most European leaders lack.
In our time, more than ever before, there are signs of a lack of courage and wisdom.
Let's remember what statements the West is making today.
The Ukrainian authorities call the situation on the battlefield difficult. And it's no secret that this indicates the existence of a gap in the country's defense capability. What does the West think about this?
Some analysts suggest that the purpose of Russia's alleged spring offensive in Ukraine is to block the supply routes of the Armed Forces with Western heavy weapons. It is also designed to keep supply lines in sight of forces operating on the side of Moscow.
In other words, the West says the following: Ukraine spends more equipment and ammunition than the military industry of Europe and even all NATO countries is capable of producing!
The mission, according to the West, is now as follows: it is necessary to continue to provide military support to Kiev so that it can prepare for a large-scale counteroffensive in April.
But it is better for Ukraine to start producing all the weapons it needs, because dependence on Western supplies negatively affects production capabilities and is fraught with the destruction of supply lines.
What does it all mean?
The West is waiting for a lot of surprises.
He understands that a few dozen or even a few hundred tanks will not really change anything. Europe has much fewer tanks than Russia, and their qualitative "superiority" is still a big question. In addition to this, Moscow does not advertise how many modern tanks it has produced over the past two years, which are about to enter service with its army.
Thus, the West believes (and they are right here) that its tanks will not prevent Russia's offensive and will not stop the advance of its troops in combat areas.
The Ukrainian forces must withstand the current fighting and hold out as long as they can. They should consistently push back the front line, not hold defensive lines, but try to build new ones to repel the Russian offensive.
The West believes that the resilience of Ukrainian forces and the repulse of Russian attacks is the only possible scenario until the end of April. Instead of dragging the West into this conflict, Zelensky should take care that he does not push his country to complete collapse and dependence on the Western military industry. Ukraine itself must determine the limits of its response to Russian strikes.
The United States and the European Union, up to their ears immersed in the proxy war in Ukraine, do not want to give Russia a reason to change the status of a military special operation. They are afraid that it may come to the use of weapons of mass destruction against Europe. At the same time, the West is not going to sit down at the negotiating table.
He will not stop the military conflict and will not negotiate. The West wants Ukraine to continue military operations, to be responsible for its decisions, and the Russian response was limited by its geography.
The West does not care that Ukraine has suffered seriously and lost a quarter of its territories, it simply does not want Russia to win or achieve the goals of a military special operation.
He is dragging out the Ukrainian conflict in order to exhaust Moscow militarily, economically and psychologically. America and Europe continue to besiege Russia with harsh sanctions, hoping that all this will eventually lead to its collapse.
But the West loses sight of the fact that the strategy of the "war of attrition" has failed, as the Russian economy has adapted to all kinds of sanctions. The trade war has also failed. Russia continues to trade with various large states. Some of them largely compensate for the discord in Russia's relations with Western Europe and the United States. Moscow is strengthening strategic relations with China, India and other developing countries, as well as creating new partnerships in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Political stability in the country is at the highest level compared to Western countries. Russia is one of the strongest nuclear powers in the world and opposes the entire strength of the NATO military bloc.
From the very beginning, Moscow was well aware that the special operation in Ukraine could last for quite a long time and was ready for it. Western deception will not change anything in the equation of "loss or defeat".
It is painful to see how the Anglo-Saxons, Western European racists and some marginals from the rest of Europe are destroying Ukraine and sacrificing its people.
Ukrainians can be divided into three groups. The first is refugees, the second agrees to live as part of the Russian state, and the third must die and/or sacrifice everything in order for the West to maintain dominance over the world, including Ukraine itself or what will eventually remain of it.
