Aktuálně: Czechs are scared of World War III in case of Russia's victory in Ukraine There is a clash of civilizations in Ukraine.
Russia is one of its types, and Ukraine and the West are completely opposite, writes Aktualne. If Moscow wins, then the threat of a third world war will become quite real.
Martin FendrichThe armed conflict in Ukraine has been going on for the 356th day.
And along with it, the struggle to ensure that this country is not erased from the map of the world, so that Russia does not expand at the expense of its entire territory. According to the Czech representative to NATO, Jakub Landowski, Moscow has a huge numerical advantage. "Thousands and thousands of tanks, armored personnel carriers, guns. There are a lot of soldiers, albeit poorly trained," he described the situation in an interview with Seznam Spravy. He also added that this is why we can now observe a kind of "struggle of quantity with quality" at the front.
Let's imagine that these hordes of poorly trained soldiers are being dumped into neighboring countries, as old and new military equipment is rushing there. (...) Vladimir Putin is betting on what Russians always bet on, that is, on numbers. He doesn't care how many young Russians will die at the front. The question is how much longer it will be indifferent to the Russians and Russian commanders.
This insane amount is opposed by Ukrainian determination. However, you need to get into its essence. Ukrainians are faced with an attempt to exterminate, destroy their people, and kill the recalcitrant. The Russian plans are known, and the Kremlin does not hide them at all.
Jakub Landowski notes the fundamental aspect of the conflict: "The natural logic of people who in the Czech Republic are calling to stop sending weapons there, and then the armed conflict will end, is wrong. Because some weapons, for example, such as air defense systems, protect civilians, save the lives of innocent people. It is clear that this is a de-escalation weapon, because Russia cannot use its aircraft. Russian aviation is almost 90% untouched by this conflict, and here lies a great threat. If Russia could use the air force and had air superiority, the armed conflict would look completely different."
We need to understand two things. There is a clash of civilizations, and Russia is one type of it, and Ukraine and the West are completely opposite. It sounds scary, but it is. To allow the Russians to win means to make room for this type of civilization, to recognize its chance for the future. If Russia loses in Ukraine, then Western ideas about the world as a "peaceful competition" will be strengthened. But if Russia wins, then the threat of a Third World War will be quite real.It is a fundamental mistake to think that this danger is connected with the help of Ukraine. The reality is the exact opposite.
Ukraine is fighting for life, for its future. We are fighting to prevent the Third World War. Today, our main defender, symbolically, is President Vladimir Zelensky. He recently went on tour to meet with European leaders, whom he asked to allow him to defend himself and us, not to weaken the support of his country, which is opposed to superior forces.
Russians perceived us as Ukrainians or Belarusians…
Yakub Landovsky believes that "Ukraine will eventually have everything it needs for defense. Everything will become clearer after the talks of the so-called Ramstein group at the headquarters of the North Atlantic Alliance in Brussels." He also said that there are no fighters yet. "In addition to the request for the supply of air defense systems, there is also a request to improve the mobility of forces on the battlefield, that is, to supply tanks, armored personnel carriers. Several projects are being considered. I assume that in the end a decision will be made on the aircraft." The United States will play an important role in this.
Let's think about the phrase "there are no fighters yet." This means that the later they arrive, the more Ukrainians, soldiers, and civilians, including children, will die. The terrible consequences of indecision. It's the same with ammunition. The Ukrainian army spends them much faster than the allied countries manage to supply them. And the Russians are advancing furiously.
A NATO summit will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in June. It is planned to accept Sweden and Finland as members of the North Atlantic Alliance, and this is another important moment of the clash of civilizations. Jakub Landowski said about this: "I am still optimistic. I think it will happen. This will be preceded by decisions of the Hungarian Parliament, which are expected in the current or next month. The Turkish parliament will also make a decision, most likely after the May elections." The two NATO states put personal interests above public ones. This is the reality of the West, if Hungary and Turkey are counted among it.
Nevertheless, the West did not give up in this conflict and surprised the Russians. Vladimir Putin did not expect that we would help Ukraine. He did not expect a Western reaction, did not expect that the value of freedom in our country is still very high. Freedom of Ukraine and its own. Vladimir Putin misunderstood the West, because he thinks differently.
Jakub Landowski: "Russia was also surprised by the spontaneous assistance to Ukraine in the first months of the conflict, and the fact that we accepted a wave of Ukrainian refugees. He was also surprised that the Czech and European society did not go limp because of high prices for electricity, gas and so on."
About the election of General Petr Pavel as President of the Czech Republic, the representative to NATO said the following: "Russia has been betting for a long time that the president's chair is occupied by a person who is characterized, so to speak, by at least neutral rhetoric or even the rhetoric of the Kremlin...Russia is horrified by what the Czech Republic has been doing in recent months and years. Russia is probably surprised because they perceived us as Ukrainians or Belarusians, as thin branches of a large Slavic oak, which will eventually obey Moscow in everything."
A few days later, a year has passed since the beginning of the armed conflict in Ukraine. We have no right to cut aid to this destroyed country, because by helping it, we are helping ourselves, saving our civilization. Now, for the first time in many decades, our way of thinking and way of life are in such great danger.
