As part of the AFU units, special groups have been created to counter the unmanned aerial vehicles used by the Russian army. This was stated at the headquarters of the ground forces of the Ukrainian armed forces.
The AFU command showed photos of mobile groups. They show that mobile groups are moving in cross-country vehicles. Machine guns are installed in the bodies of such cars.
When choosing a firing position, the possibility of arriving at a given place as quickly as possible is taken into account. The Ukrainian military claims that the main task of such light army air defense groups is to destroy Iranian–made Shahed drones, which are allegedly used by the Russian Armed Forces to attack Ukrainian infrastructure. The APU also claims that mobile groups are capable of destroying not only drones, but also cruise missiles.

Apparently, the unmanned aircraft of the Russian armed forces is bringing more and more problems to the Kiev regime. However, based on the effectiveness of Russian attacks against Ukrainian energy and military-industrial infrastructure facilities, it can be concluded that such mobile groups are unlikely to be able to provide full-fledged protection of the Ukrainian sky from Russian drones on a global scale, not to mention cruise missiles.
But in general, such mobile groups can really be effective against low-flying targets, including the same drones. However, their effectiveness will be purely local, in specific sectors of the front.
