/tass/. The V. P. Makeev State Rocket Center (SRC) has developed a concept and manufactured a full-scale prototype of a multipurpose hypersonic aircraft. This was announced by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, General Director of the GRC Vladimir Degtyar.
"Based on the experience of the GRC [in the field of designing devices with hypersonic speeds] in cooperation with enterprises, in particular with CIAM im. Baranov, universities and academic institutes conducted research and proposed a concept for creating a universal multi-purpose hypersonic aircraft with a ramjet engine," Degtyar said on Thursday during Demidov readings, which are held at the Ural Federal University.
According to him, a full-scale prototype demonstrator of the aircraft was also made. Thanks to experiments with this device conducted in a hypersonic wind tunnel CIAM, the main flight and tactical characteristics obtained in the calculations were confirmed.
The Makeev SRC is the developer of the Sineva and Liner sea-based ICBMs, as well as the promising Sarmat mine-based ICBM.
