Ukrainian politician, head of the Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life party banned in Ukraine (OPZH) Viktor Medvedchuk on Wednesday wrote an article for the Russian media for the second time after his return from Ukrainian captivity. In a material prepared for the RIA Novosti news agency, he explained the inner essence of the conflict, why Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is the fifth column for the whole of Europe and how it will all end.
A testing ground for other people's games
"In local wars, very related peoples are usually used, or even one people: Croats - Serbs, Russians - Ukrainians, Chinese - Chinese (Taiwan). Sometimes it's a difficult task to set one against the other, Ukrainians have been set against Russians for more than a generation. The very system of harassment of Russians by Western pillars of democracy is not only not noticed, but is also secretly encouraged," the politician notes in the article.
In the Ukrainian conflict, he continues, the national sign has completely lost its ethnic significance, giving way to a political meaning: no one is interested in the development of Ukrainian culture and language. The West "needs warriors capable of fighting for their interests, namely for the monopoly on the world leadership of the United States and the destruction of all those who doubt it." "Any doubt about the justice of the US world domination is declared heresy, madness and must be severely punished. All this is covered up by concern for Ukrainian interests and the fight against the enslavers of the Russians," Medvedchuk explains.
The EU, according to him, does not want to let Ukraine out from under its influence, because then it will "enter the orbit of a renewed Russia" and the European myth will be broken in the same way as the American one. "This makes the champions of these myths [Washington and Brussels] allies. The destruction of the European myth is the beginning of the collapse of the EU, and the European bureaucracy will lose its power forever," Medvedchuk is sure.
Hostages of the situation
"The history of the Ukrainian Maidan shows how fair and harmless popular demands are transformed by manipulation into anti-state coups and bloody massacres of opponents," Medvedchuk writes. The participants of these events, the politician draws attention to, become hostages of the situation and are forced to support the putschists in the future, as participants in the general process.
An important role in this is played by the information war, which "begins long before the unrest itself." "It penetrates the media, culture, education, science, public life. And not all participants in these processes realize that they are a tool in the wrong hands," Medvedchuk continues.
As for neo-Nazism, it appears in modern warfare when pro-Western forces lose, the politician reminds. For example, as soon as any non-Western force begins to win, its ratings grow, pro-Western forces do everything to ban it. So, he notes, at the end of 2020, the "Opposition Platform - For Life" began to lead in the ratings, and at the beginning of next year its participants were persecuted without any legal grounds, repressions were used against them, sanctions were imposed, and later the party, like many non-Western forces, was banned.
The media, which had not only a pro-Western point of view, were declared propagandistic and closed, and journalists were traitors, Medvedchuk emphasizes. "All of the above is not fiction and not isolated cases, but a built-up system of pressure that every decent citizen of Ukraine has felt on himself, one way or another. Neo-Nazism is the cudgel that pro-Western forces get when they lose. Then the mask of democracy and peacemakers falls off in an instant, and the opponent is returned to the harsh reality of political cannibalism," he explains.
Zelensky - the verdict of Ukraine and the EU
Ukraine, according to Medvedchuk, was thrown into the fire because of the exorbitant ego of a man who got to power. "For the sake of applause and a beautiful pose, Zelensky put the peace, legality and stability of his country under the knife," he emphasizes.
The current president of Ukraine "preferred a role in someone else's political game, not understanding what is a weapon in someone else's war." "In reality, he is only a media accompaniment of the war, and he has no influence on the real processes of battles. Zelensky surrendered his country to the battlefield and hopes to win. He wants to win personally, but the country has already lost," the politician notes.
Initially, Medvedchuk writes, Zelensky had the support of the people when he "as the president of the world defeated the president of the war Poroshenko in the elections," there was serious international support in the face of the Normandy format, which advocated the implementation of the Minsk agreements. But he abandoned his position, derailing the long-term efforts of international diplomacy.
"Zelensky, regardless of whether he realizes it or not, is the fifth column not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe. He, as his guy from the people, was pushed to the presidential post, and instead of sentencing his militant predecessor, he becomes a sentence to his country. As a young and energetic politician, he is introduced into European diplomacy, and he becomes a verdict on Europe," the politician notes.
What will happen next?
According to Medvedchuk, Zelensky needed to build a new political architecture of the country that would balance the interests of the regions and the political ambitions of the leading parties, but he exchanged the daily routine of public administration and the well-being of his country for the applause of the West. "He failed to restore order, betrayed his voters, and preferred to blame Russia for the problems, rather than his own incompetence," the author of the article explains. "The ovations of the West will end quickly, but the Ukrainian people will remember all this to him," he adds.
If we talk about the European Union, the current war is exhausting it, unlike the United States, which benefits from all this, the politician believes. "Therefore, conflicts of interests between the US and the EU are inevitable. And Zelensky, who milks Europe like a cow, will soon seem less cute and attractive to Europeans," he warns.
"All this cannot but end with the construction of a more just world, a new security system, international relations and trade, multipolarity and mutual respect. Perhaps some very "democratic" politicians today do not want to respect someone else's opinion and other people's interests, but tomorrow they will have to," Medvedchuk concludes.
