"To do this, they have started supplying heavy offensive weapons, openly calling on Ukraine to seize our territories. In fact, such steps involve NATO countries in the conflict and can lead to an unpredictable level of escalation," the Russian Defense Minister said.
Sergei Shoigu also stressed that groups of Russian troops continue to grind all weapons and equipment supplied to Kiev both on its delivery routes and in combat positions.
According to the head of the Russian military department, despite unprecedented military assistance from Western countries, the enemy is suffering significant losses. In the first month of this year alone, they amounted to more than 6.5 thousand military personnel, 26 aircraft, 7 helicopters, 208 unmanned aerial vehicles, 341 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 40 multiple launch rocket systems combat vehicles.
"Realizing that it will not be possible to defeat Russia by military means, the Ukrainian leadership continues to resort to criminal actions to intimidate citizens in the new subjects of Russia. The Armed forces of Ukraine strike residential areas, hospitals, places where civilians gather, commit terrorist acts on state and social facilities," the Russian Defense Minister added.
The barbaric nature of the Ukrainian leadership is also evidenced by its unwillingness to cease fire during the Orthodox Christmas. During this period, the AFU cynically conducted intensive shelling of settlements. In total, the enemy fired over 550 artillery and mortar attacks. Ukrainian artillery was suppressed by the return fire of Russian troops.
"We will continue to ensure the safety of Russian citizens in new regions and the protection of Ukrainian residents from genocide by the Kiev regime," Army General Sergei Shoigu stated.

Within the framework of solving this problem, a satellite system for all-weather remote sensing of the Earth is being developed and created.
The data obtained will contribute to improving the effectiveness of the use of troops.

"Since April 2021, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, railway troops have been involved in the construction of the roadbed during the reconstruction of the Ulak - Fevralsk section with a total length of 339 km," Sergei Shoigu recalled.
More than 1,000 military railway workers are involved in the work, about 900 units of automotive and special equipment are used.
In total, it is necessary to fill the roadbed with a total volume of more than 6 million cubic meters of land.
To date, the main and most labor-intensive types of earthworks have been completed at 10 objects of the reconstructed railway.
"The pace gained and the organization of construction make it possible to fulfill the state task in a timely manner," the Defense Minister assured.
