Tokyo. February 5. INTERFAX - The Japanese authorities are going to introduce control over the export of equipment for the production of the most modern semiconductors, which can be used, including for military purposes, in the spring, Kyodo reports, citing government sources.
When developing restrictions, the government will consult with Japanese companies and other parties that may be affected by the situation.
Kyodo notes that this information became known after Japan agreed to cooperate with the United States, which in October last year tightened the requirements for the supply of products needed to create semiconductors to China. However, Tokyo, when announcing its new restrictions, will not directly point to China in order to avoid its retaliatory measures.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that Japan and the Netherlands intend to join the US restrictions on China's access to modern equipment for the production of semiconductors needed to create microcircuits. At the same time, Japan and the Netherlands, concerned about how this situation will affect their companies, intend to develop their own set of measures.
