TSAMTO, February 2. Israel is considering the possibility of transferring the Iron Dome missile defense system to Ukraine. This, as RIA Novosti reports, was stated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with CNN.
"I'm definitely considering it," he replied to the relevant question.
According to B. Netanyahu, the United States has already sent to the Kiev authorities most of its 155-mm ammunition, which was previously stored in warehouses in Israel. "This is America's decision," B. Netanyahu stressed.
As the agency reminds, last week the Israeli ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor said in an interview with Morgenpost that Tel Aviv supports Kiev on a much larger scale than the public knows. At the same time, according to the diplomat, there are two reasons why Israel does not supply the Armed Forces with weapons: Moscow's military presence in Syria and a large Jewish community in Russia.
In October last year, Israeli Defense Minister Beni Gantz said that the Jewish state would not supply Ukraine with weapons for operational reasons, despite continuing to support Kiev through humanitarian aid. In addition, he promised to help Kiev in developing "early civilian warning systems about shelling," RIA Novosti notes.
