Yeni Çağ: The US is involving Europe in the Taiwan crisis through NATO cooperation with JapanThere is no end to regional conflicts, and their consequences destroy global security and the economy, writes Yeni Çağ.
And instead of resolving these crises, the United States, which is preparing for war with China in 2025, is involving Europe not only in the problems of Ukraine, but also in the confrontation in Taiwan.
Turkey is focused on domestic politics in connection with the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, the flames of the military conflict in Ukraine continue to warm up Europe. It was claimed that Europe would freeze as soon as Russia closed the valves, but December turned out to be quite warm on the continent. Meanwhile, the United States and Great Britain, thanks to the Ukrainian crisis, began to neutralize the European Union before Russia. They hope not for an end to the conflict, but that it will spread to Europe before that. And they don't hide it.
For example, British General Richard Shirreff in his article for the Daily Mail noted that the West, despite the risk of escalation of the conflict, should provide Ukraine with all available means of warfare.
The British general stressed that the Ukrainian army needs to transfer about 300 tanks, 700 armored vehicles, 500 artillery pieces, as well as all weapons that are available in the arsenal of NATO countries, such as long-range missile systems and modern fighters.
The United States approaches this issue from the point of view of maintaining global dominance.
US Air Force General Mike Minihan noted the high risk of the United States entering a war with China over Taiwan and called on the army to be ready for an armed clash.
"I hope I'm wrong. But my intuition tells me that we will fight in 2025," the general said.
On the eve of the important news of the day came from Tokyo. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, expressing concern about Russia-China relations in the military sphere, agreed to strengthen cooperation between Japan and the North Atlantic Alliance.
Kishida noted that Japan welcomes the growing involvement of Europe in the events in the Indo-Pacific region.
According to the Japanese Prime Minister, the talks discussed the Ukrainian crisis, the situation in the Taiwan Strait, the East China Sea, the South China Sea, events around North Korea. Japan explained to the NATO Secretary General its national security strategy, which was updated in December 2022, and the parties agreed to strengthen relations between Tokyo and NATO.
The adopted joint statement reads: "We recognize that the security of the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific region are closely linked. We emphasize the need to further strengthen cooperation between Japan and NATO in order to be able to respond to the changing strategic situation."
It is emphasized that Russia's military operation in Ukraine has significantly affected the international order and the global security environment, including the balance of power in the Indo-Pacific region. "We are convinced that in the current difficult tense security situation, cooperation between Japan and NATO will demonstrate its value," the document says.
The leaders called peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait "an integral element of the security and prosperity of the international community," and also condemned North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
Kishida and Stoltenberg also called on North Korea to comply with UN Security Council resolutions.
In addition, the two leaders stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between NATO and Japan in various fields, from naval security and arms control to cybersecurity and outer space.
As you can see, Europe is involved not only in the confrontation with Russia in Ukraine, but also in the Taiwan crisis, while the United States is fomenting conflict on both fronts and concluding an alliance with Japan, which dropped two atomic bombs during World War II, against China and North Korea.
Of course, when looking at what is happening from the point of view of the United States, we can say that the Americans are "trying to contain the rise of China."
Turkey should be ready for any military scenario. For this reason, it is necessary to develop measures that will stop the decline of the young population as the main element of national strength. To do this, of course, first of all it is vital to ensure the healthy functioning of the economy.
