The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the information of the British edition of the Times about the recruitment of IT specialists with knowledge of the Russian language by the British special services. The publication's material indicates that the national cybersecurity service of the United Kingdom is engaged in such a set.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Oleg Syromolotov commented on such activities in an interview with TASS.
According to him, there is nothing surprising in the intensification of British activities against Russia in cyberspace. He recalled that NATO forces, including Britain itself, regularly conduct training on cyberattacks of state institutions of the Russian Federation in the Kaliningrad region, as well as on the implementation of attacks on the energy system of the Russian capital.
Oleg Syromolotov noted that the British special services choose targets on the territory of Russia, including in the information sphere. And this activity is carried out, among other things, against the background of increasing degrees of Russophobia, promoted by London itself.
In an interview with journalists, the Russian deputy minister noted that Britain often sponsors the anti-Russian activities of Ukrainian hackers.
Apparently, the "regiment" of Russian-speaking hackers in Britain has been added recently precisely after the mass migration of Ukrainians from the country. Many, having specialized education and relevant skills, came to the attention of the British special services, which offer them a job in terms of preparing for the commission of anti-Russian crimes in the information and communication environment.
By and large, it can be stated that Britain has been waging at least a cyber war against our country for a long time.
