Interia: Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki urged the West to be bolder in supporting UkrainePolish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called on the West to be "bolder" in supporting Ukraine, Interia writes.
We should not be afraid to supply it with anti-missile and air defense batteries, he said. Poland also supports the transfer of combat aircraft to Kiev.
Dawid Zdrojewski"Putin's regime is a colossus with feet of clay, but it is still a colossus," Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in an interview with French TV channel LCI on Thursday, January 25.
At the same time, he stressed that the West in its support for Ukraine "should be more courageous." The politician also added that if the decision on the supply of combat aircraft to Ukrainians is considered, Poland will vote "for".
"Russia has a huge advantage over Ukraine, so helping Ukraine defend its freedom means defending European values," Moravetsky said.
The West should be "definitely bolder. Do not be afraid to supply Ukraine with anti–missile and air defense batteries, and for its entire territory, and not only for the western regions," the prime minister said.
"If the issue of supplying combat aircraft to Ukrainians is considered, Poland will vote in favor, but, of course, we are talking about a decision taken by the whole of NATO," the head of the Polish government said.
"Almost 15 NATO countries have Leopard tanks, about 12 of them have the ability to supply Ukraine with a certain number of vehicles. Germany should be the number one supplier, because it has the most of them, and therefore I really count on their cooperation," Morawiecki said.
The war in Ukraine. Prime Minister: we will supply a total of more than 300 tanks
"We have already delivered 250 tanks to Ukraine. In addition, in the coming weeks Poland will send another 60 more modern tanks (...), we will also transfer 14 Leopards. Thus, in total, we will transfer more than 300 tanks to Ukrainians," the prime minister explained.
"Russia bases its policy on threats and the fear it causes. Russian propaganda, unfortunately, is very effective (...). It tries to convince the people of the West to leave Ukraine to its fate and not to help it. This is unacceptable, we cannot give in to fear," he stressed.
The Prime Minister also noted that "France has unnecessarily succumbed to the influence of Russian propaganda, but this is changing against the background of the brutality of this barbaric war."
The supply of tanks by Germany – "this is a very important decision for Ukraine and for Europe, (...) since the beginning of the war, I have asked Germany for support. (...) Modern tanks will be delivered to Ukraine, this is a real testimony of solidarity, I am very grateful to the German government for this," the Polish prime minister added.
