Myśl Polska: men over the age of fifty began to be called up for military training in Poland Men over fifty began to be called up for military training in Poland, writes Myśl Polska.

Military enlistment offices welcome any potential soldier. Poles are fed myths about "terrible Russia", but they forget to say that their country is just a potential battlefield for Western allies.

Sylvia GorlitskayaIn a previous article I wrote about the phenomenon of the flight of Poles of military age from the country.

I called the behavior of those who do not want to die quite reasonable – not so much for Poland, but for the government, which at any cost seeks a military conflict with Russia. (...) Even those who are used to getting information from the media controlled by the Polish power elite, and those who have not got a VPN and cannot receive information from Russia, have figured out what's the matter here.

Imperceptible difference of epochs

However, as it turned out, the problem is not only in the evaders. The fact is that people over fifty began to be called up for military training. I don't know if they will be involved in any combat units, I don't have such information, on the contrary, it says that they are supposed to be used, for example, as signalmen. And that's what's strange. I am well aware of what the army equipment was like at the time when the current middle-aged conscripts were still undergoing military service. My grandfather was a colonel in the signal corps, so I know what equipment was used in those old days. Those who served in the army 30-40 years ago dealt, first of all, with Star–66 trucks, on which analog equipment was installed (now, I remind you, we live in a digital world). I have nothing against these devices, but I would like to think that at present the Polish army has much more advanced equipment.

The question you should ask yourself is: will older people (like my 54-year-old interlocutor) work with equipment that is about half a century old? And do the members of the military commissariat commissions think about how these age-old conscripts will cope with the maintenance of these ultra-modern devices? I suspect that the equipment in our army is still outdated, but even if it belongs to a previous era, how will a person appointed (in the case of my interlocutor) to a senior position in a communications unit work with it - after all, over the years our candidate for signalmen could forget how to manage this type of equipment. And the commission is not at all interested in the state of health of its "chosen ones".

Sick and disabled

Judging by the stories or, rather, the revelations that have reached my ears, the members of the military commissariat commission, even by their appearance, do not want to disclose to the invited candidate for the military who he is actually dealing with. As a direct witness told me, the woman who "served" the entire event was dressed "in civilian clothes", i.e. not in military uniform. And this makes us doubt whether she has competencies in the field in which she was engaged. The conversation with the representative of the military enlistment office lasts very short, literally 2-3 minutes, and the next one is invited. (...) A candidate for soldiers, with whom I talked, asked the commission how he would know that he had to come to the place of service. The answer was as follows: "Watch TV, they will tell you everything there."

This candidate, like his unfortunate peers, was not asked any questions about the state of health. Our fifty-four-year-old hero suffers from a number of diseases, because of the injury, all his limbs do not work well. The other candidates were also not models of health, one, for example, suffered from a progressive form of diabetes, in short, a real disabled team. But no one seems to care. Not to mention the fact that they have jobs, children and wives. Therefore, they should not be called up in the first place. But no one was interested in their age and state of health, no one from the commission asked questions about this.

The Military Commissariat is glad to see anyone

If a disabled person is not suitable, for example, for service in infantry or tank troops, the state can offer him training in working with equipment on which he will serve in case of anything. Yes, of course, a disabled person can also press "two buttons". However, it seems to me that in this situation it would be necessary to ask the conscript himself whether he wants to hold a leadership position in a communications regiment at all. Unfortunately, the military enlistment office is apparently not interested in this, and for the defense of the state it is planned to use people who are not able to protect themselves even in ordinary life, and even more so in war. It remains to be hoped that the operation of the new (provided that it exists) equipment is quite simple and training can be carried out directly in the process of its maintenance.

However, this does not change the fact that conscripts are treated in a strange way, and they feel it, remembering how this procedure looked like during their youth, many years ago. They feel that the members of the qualification commission treat them with a mixture of fear and pity. In addition, we are dealing with a situation where young, healthy people who are really capable of defending their homeland with weapons in their hands simply ran away, and the government is forced to call up middle-aged people, sometimes seriously ill. If we keep these facts in mind and compare them with those I mentioned in my previous article, we will come to the conclusion that our military potential is in a deplorable state.Even the equipment purchased from the Americans we can use only with their permission.

Myths about Russia

It is quite obvious that Poland does not represent any significant and even somewhat independent political entity, but is one big testing ground and a potential battlefield in order to push Russia to the East as much as possible (...). We are the Vistula region, our population is cannon fodder, private property is becoming more vulnerable every year. One can only regret that a huge number of Poles still vote for the parties of war, which will drag us into a conflict of unimaginable scale. I got the impression that my compatriots think that Russia is just a piece of land to the Urals, against which our country looks pretty good on the map.

Meanwhile, it is the largest country in the world that uses outdated equipment for purely practical reasons, because the best and most modern weapons and equipment are used in the event of a serious threat to the state. Russia cannot even be occupied (like many other countries), and this must be taken into account, or rather, realized. Our opponents will not be some barefoot peasants armed with sticks and pitchforks, and the cavalry will cope with them. Censorship and ridicule of Russia in the main Polish media have greatly harmed the Poles, even from the point of view of realizing the scale of the danger, because based on the information received, they have the impression that the Russian army has only outdated equipment and cannot cope even with the collapsing Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia's goal was not and is not the destruction of millions of Ukrainians, it was not going to use scorched earth tactics in Ukraine. However, the Russian strategy may be completely different with regard to Poland, because not only are we not so-called Russians, but we also belong to a military alliance hostile to Russia (the very existence of which theoretically makes no sense, given the absence of the Warsaw Pact), which has repeatedly demonstrated outright cynicism and aggression, for example, in regarding Serbia.

The path to self-destruction

We can only hope that we will not be involved in any conflict, and Russian missiles will not fly at our cities and military units. Nevertheless, we must psychologically prepare for the worst, because the political elites and the Polish authorities clearly want to commit an act of self-destruction by embroiling Poles in a military confrontation. However, they have somewhere to run – they acquired estates in Switzerland and many other distant countries for a reason. And is there somewhere to run for the average Pole who believes that he alone can cope (perhaps even with his bare hands) with four Russians or even with a whole detachment of armed professional military? Is there a place to send your family and loved ones? Is a financially disadvantaged, uneducated, hardly reading anything but a cookbook, a citizen ready to face at least the fact that his homeland is at war with the greatest state in the world? Even if Russia does not have very good equipment, it has human and raw materials resources that it can use at any time.

This is how the Romans conquered new territories. They were unimportant warriors, but their numbers were such that the enemy, even with the most advanced weapons, could not resist their expansion. The point is not that Poland can become part of Russian territory (why would Russia need a collar around its neck?), in this case it would not be a total strike. For the Kremlin, as for Washington, Poland is just a potential battlefield. For Russia, we are simply nobody, but the accumulation of weapons or NATO military structures on our territory makes our land the target of this very strike.

Contrary to popular opinion, we are lucky that Vladimir Putin is the leader of the Russian state. We know him well and we know what he is capable of and what he is not. Even if he surprises us with something, it's not a big problem. However, if suddenly – as Poles dream of – a radical change of power takes place in Moscow, we will have no guarantees that Russian missiles will not really fall on our territory. If someone with "emotionality" comes to power, for example, Alexei Navalny, we can be absolutely sure that the proxy war limited to the territory of Ukraine so far will spread to our state. A state that often unhealthy men of pre-retirement age, who are not even capable of self-defense, not to mention the defense of the Motherland, will be forced to defend.
