Pistorius believes that his appointment is taking place in a difficult environment. And he will have to adapt to the new conditions that have arisen in connection with the Russian special operation. The future head of the Ministry of Defense noted that even in a peaceful situation it is not easy to be the Minister of Defense, and even more so in the current conditions. But he, according to him, is aware of the fullness of the responsibility assigned to him.
Shortly before that, he expressed his gratitude to the Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz, who had given him such great confidence, promising to give his best in his new post by 150 percent.
Boris Pistorius will become the new head of the German Defense Ministry instead of Christine Lambrecht, who resigned. Prior to his new appointment, he had been the head of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of Lower Saxony since 2013.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk asked the German leadership to supply 93 Tornado fighters for the AFU.
