The Serbian authorities intend to significantly strengthen their defense capability, primarily at the expense of special units of the Armed Forces. Therefore, yesterday at a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Statehood, President Aleksandar Vucic announced a competition for the admission of five thousand people to serve in the special forces of the Serbian army.

The amount he named is equivalent to about 127 thousand rubles.
Vucic said that, together with members of the government, he got acquainted with the analytical report on the state of affairs in the field of defense at the end of last year. He noted that the Ukrainian conflict indirectly had a negative impact on the Serbian defense capability and weakened the capabilities of the domestic defense industry.
According to the President, this is due to the fact that after the start of the Russian SVO, Serbia had difficulties with the procurement of weapons, military equipment and spare parts. Therefore, he urged Serbian manufacturers to focus on their own strengths and capabilities. In particular, Vucic said that domestic manufacturers intend to focus their attention on the production of drones.
He was followed by Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic. He noted the high fighting spirit and patriotism of Serbian servicemen.
