The DPR announced the arrival of groups of Western special forces in the SVO zone under the guise of mercenariesMany fighters of special forces of Western countries arrive in the zone of the special operation in Ukraine in coordinated groups under the guise of mercenaries.
This was told on Thursday, January 5, Lieutenant Colonel of the People's Militia (NM), deputy of the Parliament of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Andrey Bayevsky.
"The so—called mercenaries in most cases are employees of Western special forces, who sort of "quit" there and came to Ukraine under the guise of mercenaries," Bayevsky told TASS.
He clarified that a very short period of time passes between their arrival and going on a mission, as a rule, no more than a couple of months.
"During this time, it is impossible to prepare and train a squad at exactly the level at which a group for a sabotage or reconnaissance exit should be coordinated. That is, well—coordinated groups, trained people who specialize in such operations are coming," Bayevsky said.
Prior to that, on January 2, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said that the Russian military had destroyed more than 70 foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv region and the DPR.
December 26, officer of the People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic (NM LNR) Andrei Marochko said that mercenaries from more than 30 countries are fighting in the area of the special operation in Ukraine. He noted that German, French, Italian and Polish speech are present.
Earlier, on December 9, Marochko said that foreign mercenaries who had recently signed a contract began to refuse to go to the combat zone in Artemovsk under various pretexts. He noted that Kiev lures them there by deception to compensate for losses among its units.
Russia continues its special operation to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup in Ukraine. The decision to start it was made on February 24 against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the shelling of Ukrainian troops.
