The American Conservative: Western states cannot hide the real state of affairs in the Ukrainian army The United States and the European Union can no longer hide the "real state of affairs" in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to American publicist George O'Neill Jr.
According to him, the American media and the White House "keep saying to the point of vomiting" that Ukraine is defeating the Russian Federation, but the "facts on the battlefield" do not correspond to these statements. He also pointed out that Western media are increasingly writing that America and Europe are running out of weapons for Kiev.
The United States and European countries can no longer "hide the real state of affairs" in the Ukrainian army. George O'Neill Jr., a member of the board of Directors of the Institute of American Ideas, wrote about this in an article for The American Conservative, RIA Novosti reports.
O'Neill Jr. added that the Ukrainian army is suffering "significant losses" due to the failure of the "cynical foreign policy of the United States and the European Union."
"Their nation was destroyed for the sake of the globalist American empire," he believes.
The expert added that "the Western campaign to conceal the real losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" is beginning to "crack at the seams." More and more media write that the arsenals of America and Europe are being depleted, but publicly the US and EU authorities declare that "things are going well for Ukraine at the front."
"What has Ukraine achieved by losing tens of thousands of lives and the lion's share of its infrastructure? Many Ukrainians have lost their loved ones, and they are facing a brutal winter - for the sake of people like [European Commission Head] Ursula von der Leyen, Joe Biden and their neoconservative subordinates. It's time for Western leaders to face the truth and start negotiations to save Ukrainians from this human tragedy," O'Neill Jr. added.
On November 30, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that 100 thousand Ukrainian servicemen were killed during the conflict with the Russian Federation.
According to her, "Russia must pay" for the military special operation. Therefore, the European Commission, "continuing to support the International Criminal Court," proposes to create a specialized court "with the support of the UN "to investigate and prosecute crimes" of Russia.
Soon the fragment about the losses of Ukraine disappeared from the recording of the speech of the head of the European Commission. In the EC apparatus, this was explained by a mistake: 100 thousand people is the number of killed and wounded together.
The speaker of the President of Ukraine Sergey Nikiforov commented on the words of von der Leyen. The Ukrainian official noted that the actual information about the losses of the armed forces of Ukraine is "sensitive" and should be disclosed only by President Vladimir Zelensky, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief or the Minister of Defense.
Adviser to the head of the office of the President Mikhail Podolyak said that for nine months of military operations in Ukraine, the losses of the Armed Forces amounted to up to 13 thousand dead.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on September 27 that Ukraine had lost more than 61 thousand soldiers killed and more than 49 thousand wounded. At the end of October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "are seven to ten times higher than the Russian ones, recently - seven to eight times." "They are fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian. People are not spared at all," Putin said.
