Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Girkin (Strelkov) left the zone of a special military operation and returned to Moscow. Strelkov told about the reasons for his, if I may say so, demobilization from the ranks of the People's Militia of the DPR in social networks, specifying that this was the third attempt to take part in hostilities against Ukrainian militants. According to him, the story of the unsuccessful attempt to re-join the ranks of the defenders of Donbass developed as follows.
Strelkov arrived in the Donetsk People's Republic in early October, on the 14th of the same month, in one of the military commissariats of the republic, he wrote an application with a request to enroll him in the ranks of the DPR Armed Forces. The request was granted, the recruit was enlisted in the marching company of one of the motorized rifle brigades of the 1st corps of the NM DNR for further assignment to the battalion of the rifle regiment. For obvious reasons, Strelkov does not disclose the numbers of military units.
After that, Strelkov spent quite a long time at the military training ground, where he was engaged in the formation of a new battalion. Then, as part of this unit, he arrived in the area of the city of Svatovo, where for ten days, as he writes, "he tried to carry out the duties of the battalion's chief of staff concerning preparation for its upcoming combat use at the front."
After ten days of being near the front line of the Shooters, for reasons that he does not talk about, he returned to the training ground again. While still acting chief of Staff, Strelkov was surprised to find out that he was not officially in a military position and was not listed in the regiment at all.
— writes Strelkov.
After conducting an informal investigation, he found out that, as he believes, he was a victim of the intrigues of the command. After enlisting in a marching company, he was transferred to a regiment, in which he remained officially enlisted for only one day. As a result, from October to November, he, in fact, was not officially in military service, respectively, illegally owned weapons and voluntarily traveled to the zone of his own.
— Strelkov stated with amazement, adding that the command of the unit knew about this incident.
Having come to the conclusion about the ambiguity of his military status, or rather, its complete absence, Strelkov handed over his weapons, distributed the remnants of the humanitarian aid he had delivered earlier, helped other volunteer servicemen from the unit he had formed to redistribute to other units and left Donbass.
— Strelkov reported today on his account.
Already in the next post, Igor Girkin announced a series of publications on the impressions he received during his stay in the zone of a special military operation. Judging by the first, they will be mostly critical, although, according to the author, constructive in relation to the command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in particular and the Russian leadership in general regarding the strategy and tactics of conducting its,
The head of the Donbass Volunteer Union, Russian State Duma deputy Alexander Borodai, commenting on Igor Strelkov's unsuccessful attempt to "fight for Donbass," suggested that Strelkov could really be trying to get into a war zone, or he could simply imitate this process for a PR effect in the ranks of his subscribers.
