TSAMTO, December 1. During the course of the SVO, the military personnel of the repair units of the ZVO carry out uninterrupted maintenance and repair of the VIVT. To do this, they deployed points of repair and restoration of equipment in the field. The video is presented on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
As stated in the commentary to the video, special attention is paid to the issues of maintenance and repair of the troops operating at a considerable distance from the temporary deployment and deployment points.
In the field, observing all the principles of camouflage, servicemen carry out restoration work of any complexity thanks to modern maintenance and repair machines, as well as highly qualified servicemen of repair units.
In order to maintain the high combat capability of the units and ensure their continuous conduct of hostilities, first of all, the weapons that are necessary for the performance of the combat mission are repaired, as well as weapons that can be repaired in the shortest possible time.
The servicemen perform their tasks in several shifts, which allows them to work around the clock.
In the combat zone, the machines work intensively, in extreme conditions. "At the moment, the engine is being replaced. The tank came from the front line. We are doing everything quickly and efficiently to send tanks to the front line. We try to release 2-3 tanks a day. Everything goes on the conveyor belt. It takes a maximum of two days to replace the engine," said Yuri, the platoon commander of the armored vehicle repair company.
The battalion is mobile and can deploy almost in an open field. According to the working conditions, temporary workshops are not inferior to capital ones – factory ones.
It has all the necessary equipment for quick repairs.
The main task is to restore and return the equipment to combat formations as quickly as possible. Hence the well-structured logistics.
Work is also in full swing at the communications repair site, but already jewelry. Internal communication – between crew members or external – between combat vehicles and the command post. Everything can be repaired – from radio stations to headsets.
In the same formation with the specialists of the repair and restoration battalion of the Western Military District, military personnel called up from the reserve as part of partial mobilization perform combat tasks. Professional welders, mechanics, electricians easily mastered the repair of military equipment.
"Those mobilized learned their craft in a short time. They began to carry out repair work very efficiently, not yielding to contract service servicemen. The main task is the restoration of equipment. We restore tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, in the service of the RAV. We carry out the work in a short time, efficiently, " said the commander of the repair company of armored vehicles ZVO Sergey.
The pace of repair in workshops deployed in the field will be the envy of the best car services. But the pace of repair does not come at the expense of quality. Military mechanics do everything for themselves. After the repair, they take the crew seats themselves and make sure to check each car before returning it to the front line.
The final stage is to check the quality of work of the repair battalion. The car arrives at the site, where the serviceability of components and assemblies will be checked.
Not only the performance of the combat mission depends on the work of the repair units, but also the lives of the fighters.
The combat vehicle has been cleaned, oiled, repaired, but the tank is not yet ready to be sent to a combat unit. He winds circles on a special training ground near the repair battalion.
The combat vehicle makes three control shots. The anti-recoil device is checked with shots. Without him, the tower will simply blow up. From frequent shooting in battle, the device wears out. The charging system, the shutter, the anti-rollback device are working normally.
A few more laps. The turret rotation mechanism is checked on the move. The car is ready to perform combat missions. Wheeled vehicles leave the repair battalion on their own, tracked vehicles – on the highway.
This repair and restoration unit of the Western Military District was formed two years ago. Even before the start of the special military operation, the battalion carried out tasks in the Syrian Arab Republic. Every day, specialists of this battalion alone return to service a dozen and a half different combat vehicles, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
